One of the drawbacks to Android devices is that because there are so many different types of Android phones and tablets out there, with different hardware and different dimensions, developers usually have a hard time creating apps that will play nice with every Android phone or tablet out there. Well the good news is that if you were planning on picking up any of Google?s Nexus devices ? the Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10, you might be interested to learn that big name publishers Electronic Arts and Gameloft have announced their support for Google?s range of Nexus devices. Sales of Android devices go up in Australia,
while iOS faces a decline

While Apple?s iPhone might be considered to be an iconic piece of technology in today?s pop culture, recently released figures from Kantar Worldpanel ComTech has revealed that sales of Android devices have grown, while sales of the iPhone have actually declined in Australia at least. Granted the data used only took into account over a week?s worth of iPhone 5 sales, it did show a pretty impressive move for Android from 53%, jumping to a whopping 67.1%, while iPhone sales have dropped to 23.2% versus 27.9% previously. Interestingly the figures also revealed that other platforms, like Microsoft?s Windows Phone have increased by 1% although there is a chance those numbers could increase with the release of Windows Phone 8, while RIM?s sales have dropped from 2.1% to a very small 0.6%. Perhaps RIM could do better in Australia next year with the release of Blackberry 10, but we guess we will have to wait until then to find out. In the meantime what do you guys make of this? Are you starting to notice more Android devices around you, or do you think that it?s still somewhat balanced between iOS and Android?

DIY wireless charging kit for Samsung Galaxy S3

When the Samsung Galaxy S3 was announced, Samsung also revealed that they would be releasing wireless chargers for the device. Whether you?re a fan of wireless changing or not, it was definitely a feature that some were looking forward to. That being said, we have yet to see anything official from Samsung, but one eBay seller decided that instead of waiting around for an official solution, he would instead come up with a backplate for the Galaxy S3 that would make it compatible with Palm Touchstone chargers. Since they appear to be DIY solutions, I would go as far as saying you could make one for yourself if you were so inclined, but if you?d rather save yourself the hassle, you can hop on over to the seller?s eBay store and pick one up for yourself for $55. If you own a Palm Touchstone charger, you can instead just pick up the backplate for $28, saving yourself some money in the process.

Grand Theft Auto 5 confirmed for Spring 2013
release, pre-orders begin 5th November

Remember yesterday we reported that according to leaked promo materials, it was suggested that Grand Theft Auto 5 could be released in the Spring of 2013? Well the good news is that Rockstar has come forward and officially announced the Spring release themselves. No word on when we can expect a launch for the PC, but according to the blog post, the Spring release is for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles.

?Hey guys, glad to see so much enthusiasm about the release announcement. For those asking about the PC platform, we’re currently focused on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game and don’t have any details to share about a PC version at this time.?

Now for the even better news, it seems that gamers can look forward to begin the pre-orders on the 5^th of November. We?re not sure if there will be any collector?s editions available or special pre-order bonuses, but Rockstar has stated that more information will be available come November. So, who?s excited? I know I am!

Googles Nexus 7 tablet reportedly selling nearly
1 million units every month

With the Google Nexus 7 offering Android tablet users an unadulterated Android experience, many assumed that it could prove to be a serious competitor to Apple?s iPad. On the flipside there were probably some who expected the Nexus 7 to flop ? after all Android tablets, save for a few, have not exactly been success stories. Well as it turns out, ASUS (via WSJ) has announced that sales of the Google Nexus 7 are reaching almost a million units a month, a pretty impressive feat we have to admit considering that the tablet was released a few months ago. With the Nexus 10 tablet having been made official, along with new Nexus 7 variants of different sizes and mobile connectivity, it is very likely that tablet sales of the Nexus 7 will achieve even greater numbers.
