Sony and Petco announce National Adoption Reunion
and attempt to break a Guinness World Record

Pet photo
Sony has teamed up with Petco for a National Adoption Reunion to make life better for pets in need. The cause will be accepting photographs of your pet(s), and for every photograph received, it will be donating a dollar (up to $10,000) to improve the lives of pets that need the help (using a Sony Cybershot camera and its “pet mode” is encouraged).

In addition to donating the money, the best pet photograph submitted to National Adoption Reunion will reward the pet and its owner to a trip to San Francisco, an exclusive pet photo shoot that will be featured in a future Petco ad spread, and in Good Housekeeping Magazine. Want to be the next Paris and Tinkerbell? This could be your chance.

Sony will also be attempting to break a Guinness World Record for having the largest gathering of adopted pets and owners. It’s happening in Central Park, NYC on October 4th and if you’d like to take part in the event, all you have to do is turn up with your pet and proof of adoption. Sure like Sony is doing its part to help out animals in need. Will you be taking part in this event? Find out more.

Even the most slothful desk jockeys lean, twist, and turn. Where ordinary office chairs have rigid frames that limit movement, the Generation boasts an elastomer backrest that’s more [...]

Skype in-flight video call made on MSNBC TV

Skype video call in-flight
Ever received or made a Skype video call to somebody who was on an airplane? I can’t say I have, but the folks over at MSNBC have, in a news segment shot yesterday. Time magazine’s senior political analyst, Mark Halperin, called up the studio via Skype while in the middle of a red eye flight, and gave his opinion on Chris Christie’s speech through a video call. Not to mention, he was in the plane’s lavatory as well.

Dell XPS 14z

At the IFA 2011 event, Dell unveiled its lightweight XPS 14z laptop but there was no mention of when it would be going on sale. Well, it’s been reported that Dell has announced the laptop will be available in “the coming weeks” which means it should be sometime in October. The XPS 14z will feature the same industrial design of the XPS 15z and will measure 13.19 x 9.21 x 0.9 inches ? yes, that’s less than an inch thick for you folks who like their laptops like magazines.

The Dell XPS 14z will pack a 14″ LG Shuriken display, a Core i5-2430M or Core i7-2640 CPU, NVIDIA Optimus graphics, a slot-loading optical drive (some people still use discs after all), USB 3.0, and a weight of 4.36 (depending on what you add/remove during customization). Still no word on pricing but expect more details to be released in the near future.
