I guess it goes without saying that with a flat panel display in your living room, you would do well to accompany it with a flat, wall-mounted speaker as well to complete the look. Paradigm's Esprit Hybrid on-wall speakers adds that touch of class to your home, featuring multiple placement options without sacrificing sonic fineness. The speakers can be mounted on the GS-40 stand that allows it to automatically adjust sound for correct free-air frequency response to maintain superior performance - I think only audiophiles will appreciate this feature as I am not the type who measures just exactly how far my speakers should stay apart from each other. Well, I guess for the $1,099, you get some literally thumping performance with this.

Softbank's Full Face 2 - also known as the 921 SH might fool you from a distance into thinking that it is actually an iPhone, but it isn't. Don't go thinking that the large screen real estate you see up front is touch sensitive since it is just meant to display information and not to interact with. The 3.2" LCD display has a resolution of 480 x 854 and is equipped with a motion sensor located at the bottom. Other features of this Sharp-designed handset are :-

Pandas love bamboos, and if you've ever taken bamboo shoots at a Chinese restaurant, you'll probably be able to identify with China's endangered animal. This bamboo-inspired stereo speaker concept definitely looks good in any living room, featuring WiFi connectivity, an integrated LED display that shows the equalizer (very cool in my books), MP3 line-in, remote desktop synching, and a CD player. The entire speaker concept consists of three parts - right/left channel wireless speakers, a base station and a control ring (think of it as the One Ring). A solitary charge provides you with up to a dozen hours of use. Hopefully this will be able to make it to the production line one day.

Looks like those who still prefer to have a hard drive in their MacBooks compared to the 64GB SSD found in the MacBook Air can rejoice - Apple looks set to ship a HDD-based Macbook Air in the US when February 1st rolls around. That's just a couple of days' away folks, so if you can keep that itch to pick up the MacBook Air today, you will be rewarded with more GBs then. Folks in the SSD camp will have to wait a wee bit longer, as shipping of the SSD-based MacBook Air will commence sometime between the 6th and 8th next month.

Nokia's Communicator line of smartphones are great for two things - keeping your life in perfect order as well as bonking inept subordinates under your charge. The Softbank 922SH smartphone takes the same design route as the Communicator, featuring a 3.5" LCD ASV display (480 x 854 resolution), a 1Seg Digital TV tuner, a 2.1 megapixel camera, microSDHC memory card support, Bluetooth connectivity, and HSDPA - all packed into a package that measures 56mm x 116mm x 17mm for 132 grams. No idea on how much it costs but I think that antenna is definitely an eye-sore.

[PMA 2008] Panasonic has just announced its Lumix DMC-FX35 digital camera that comes with Panasonic's inaugural 25mm ultra-wide-lens. The inclusion of such a lens shows Panasonic's commitment to create a camera that captures "remarkable and unprecedented width and depth" in a slim form factor that is tiny enough to carry in a pocket or small purse. Among the features that can be found on the DMC-FX35 include :-

[PMA 2008] Another year, another new digital camera model. Can't they just build them like cars, with technology that is good for at least five years before the wear and tear starts to show? Anyways, if you're a beginner looking for a digital camera, there is Panasonic's new Lumix DMC-LZ8 that will be out this February in black and silver colors, retailing for $179.95. In addition to Leica DC VARIO-ELMAR lenses and wide-angle shooting on the LZ8, you also get :-

[PMA 2008] I sometimes wish that the pace of consumer electronics would move slower when it comes to new releases as the bank account can only take so much damage before it requires a quick trip to the resuscitator. Having said that, Panasonic's new DMC-LZ10 digital camera is the latest in the Lumix LZ Series that boasts a couple of key improvements over last year's DMC-LZ7 - Leica DC VARIO-ELMAR lenses and wide-angle shooting. As for the rest of the specifications, kindly redirect your eyeballs downwards...

[PMA 2008] Panasonic's DMC-FS20 digital camera is joined at launch with the stylish DMC-FS5, bringing a 30mm wide-angle Leica DC lens with 4x optical zoom to the table. Most of the specifications are pretty much the same with the FS20, and if you don't mind a smaller LCD display (which translates to longer battery life IMHO), then the FS5 sounds like the better option. Still, different strokes for different folks, so check out the specifications below before making a head/heart decision where your credit card is concerned.

[PMA 2008] Panasonic isn't going to let up on its digital camera release anytime soon, with the Lumix DMC-FS20 being the latest to join the stable. For those who are not in the know, the FS models is the prettier version of the Lumix FX Series, bringing together both form and function. I guess in human comparisons, that is something like having an award winning ballerina for a mom who's always there for you. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced shutterbug, the Lumix DMC-FS20 doesn't fall short on features.
