Italdesign-Guigiaro Quaranta concept car

Italdesign-Guigiaro will showcase its Quaranta concept car at the Geneva Motor Show on March 4. The Quaranta features all-wheel drive, a mid-mounted hybrid powerplant utilizing solar energy, as well as the oddball passenger capacity of three adults and a child, Leftlanenews reports.

The concept car was inspired by the 1968 Bizzarrini Manta, the first concept car with a central engine and drivetrain. Access to the interior is via two doors, with one incorporated into the other, which open upwards. The roof- and front bodywork-mounted solar panels provide up to 250W of power, which is used for the HVAC system as well as recharging the battery.

Interior accessories include a steering wheel with all the car's control mounted in the space of the spokes, including gear selection.

The concept sits on 20-inch wheels and tires. A carbon monocoque frame serves as the skeleton for aluminum and steel panels.

Employees tracking stock at Circuit City say Sony will launch the white PS3 in the US .

we've since heard from Circuit City employees that they've begun receiving shipments of these "new" PlayStation 3s. On the shipping box? The model number CECHH01. Which the more observant amongst you will recognize as the model # for the White PlayStation 3. Seems these will be held in stock until the current Spider-Man 3 bundles are gone, and will then be offered for the standard price of $399

Olympus mobile Eye-Trek

Olympus is testing a service that provides information to people using wireless head mount displays (HMDs) with the Future Creation Laboratory and Human Media Lab. T

"mobile Eye-Trek (Keigan)," is an optical - wireless HMD prototype developed by Olympus. The mobile Eye-Trek (Keigan), features IUS, places an LCD panel measuring 3.2 x 2.4mm in front of the right eye, which looks like a 3.8-inch display (about 100mm diagonal) located 50cm ahead from the viewer's perspective, according to Olympus.

The 113,000 resolution LCD panel has 521 x 218 delta-aligned pixels.

Philips & Lite-On Digital Solutions, have unveiled DX4O1S , the world's first USB-connected external BD-ROM drive. The Lite-On DX-4O1S can read BD media at 4x, single layer DVD at 12x, dual-layer at 8x and CD at 32x maximum.

The DX4O1S allows users to play back Blu-ray discs on any PC via a USB 2.0 cable.

Apple iPhone SDK broaden the platform more

Apple's chief operating officer Timothy Cook described the iPhone as "a platform not a product" at the annual Goldman Sachs Technology Investment Symposium.

Cook revealed that the SDK will "broaden the platform more, to the point where the only limit will be people's imagination."

iPhone infringes call display patent

A complaint filed Massachusetts accuses Apple of violating a patent for a basic call display system reports AppleInsider.

Romek Figa, claims that "certain Apple telephones" use technology at the heart of a 1990 patent that describes a system which displays both the phone number of an inbound call.

The technique matches up phone numbers with a contact list stored on the phone, allowing the device to associate a name with any incoming calls.

Wii outsells the PS3 4-to-1 in Japan

According to sale reports out of Japan, Nintendos's Wii outsells Sony's PS3 4-to-1. Nintendo sold 331,627 consoles over the month, while Sony sold 89,131 units in the same time.
