Folk on Zoozen's R&D team have conjured up some design wizardry by coming up with a redesigned console body known as the Ovo 360 for the Xbox 360, and I totally dig the smooth, clean lines that come with rounded edges on the sides. While it looks more like a flat piece of pebble, the soft blue glow at the sides reminds one of the Wii. Do you think if Microsoft had released this as the original form factor, sales might've been different (as in higher) due to the more pleasing aesthetics? This is still a prototype for what could be a potential product, but there is no decision as to whether these will be produced on a mass scale or not.

UV light does serve its purpsoe in the world, but when it comes to women, most of them shun it due to the ability for such light to speed up the aging process by quite a notch. The UV Beads Checker from Japan aims to prevent this from happening by coming in transparent beads that change color under the presence of strong UV light. You can wear this around your wrist as a bracelet or throw in a piece or two of Swarovski crystals for an added touch of beauty. Prices start from $6 upwards, but I don't think you're naive enough to depend on these beads to tell you just how much UV light you're getting while standing under the hot sun in the afternoon.

This Flying Video Pet looks like something from a Jetsons movie, and probably won't be realized anytime soon since the law of physics and our limited knowledge do not quite permit us to roll these out on a mass production scale. From the video, we can tell that it comes with an extremely large head which follows its owner around by flying, and the head contains a huge display which is used to read messages from your friends with the option to reply. Pretty much sci-fi stuff at the moment, but 50 years down the road, who knows? Best of all is, you won't need to clean up its poop when you take it for a walk, er, flight.

Clarion of Japan has recently released the Max9700DT which comes with just about everything but the kitchen sink. This new line of GPS navigation system comes with a 1-seg TV tuner for watching TV on-the-go along with a standard terrestrial digital tuner for a wider range of channel choices. You also get the standard 3D street display, a 40GB hard drive, a DVD drive that is compatible with ATRAC, WMA, and MP3 files, a 7" widescreen touch LCD display which replicated the interface of any iPod connected (I wonder how the Shuff'es interface would look like lol), 5.1 audio output, an SD and Memory Stick slot, a MiniDisc player, and AM/FM radio. The Max9700DT will be released something this June for approximately $2,860. Yes, you can collectively pick up your jaws from the floor now.

The MouseRug range of mousepads definitely add a nice touch to the desktop, but somehow I have a strange feeling that gamers will probably avoid this like the plague. After all, there are a wide range of designs to choose from but somehow or rather they aren't exactly appealing in any way to help you gain an edge over the competition when it comes to razor sharp mouse flicks. They'd make a great gift though, and retail for $18.98 a pop. Hopefully you won't be able to pick up any carpet burns as you move the mouse furiously in an attempt to complete your spreadsheet in record time.

The MicroTemp MT100 Keychain Thermometer from Spark Industries is one device that eschews the Windows mantra of 'point-and-click'. All you ned to do is point it at the desired target (preferably devices and not people), and the infrared sensor will pick up the current temperature of the item. The range is pretty wide, ranging from -27°F (-33°C) to a few notches above the boiling point at 230°F (+110°C) without having you suffer from frozen or burnt fingers in the process. My puny brain can't quite figure out the practical use this $24.95 gadget has for an average Joe, so will you guys kindly help me out here?

The Gaslock Indy Cator could not have come at a better time as fuel prices around the world are soaring faster than an eagle taking flight. This device features a radical design and some pretty nifty features that enhances the entire driving experience. The energy-saving function informs you exactly when would be the right time to shift and save gas. The manufacturer claims that you can spend up to 15% less on fuel if you follow its shift timing correctly, but I fear your concentration would no longer be on the road anymore. The Gaslock Indy Cator retails for $169 and obviously does not support vehicles with automatic transmission.

While the SlouchPod might come with all sorts of features that cater to the gaming community, the one thing it does not do is correct the posture of lazy gamers everywhere. Looking more like BeanBags 2.0 than anything else, the SlouchPod comes with a couple of 5 watt RMS speakers and one 10 watt RMS subwoofer. Features include a digital control panel for MP3 players, game consoles, TV/DVD, computer, and stereo. Compatible with all gaming console, the SlouchPad offers tubthumping sound at the relatively expensive price of £299 with half a dozen colors to choose from.

I'm not too sure what the logic behind something like the Holey Pillow is, but apparently this is a sound-catching pillow that is cubic in nature and comes with a hollowed out inside that enables you to place the receiver inside. There are plenty of holes around that streams all sounds from the room through to its crevices and straight into your ear, enabling you to watch TV at extremely low volume levels without waking up your kids who are in the same room. Heck, get a pair of wireless headphones if you want to do that, silly! We can file this under "Odd stuff from Japan".
