Here's yet another PMP from China, and this time it is the RAmos RM970 that will come under scrutiny. You get a fairly standard 3" 480 x 272 pixel display and is powered by a 200MHz ARM7 processor which is aided by a 200MHz Rockchips DSP processor. File format support includes the usual suspects - MPEG4, Real and AVI video files and MP3, WAV, WMA, Ogg, FLAC, AAC, APE. In addition, you will be able to snap imprompty images wherever you are with the RM970's 3 megapixel camera, although it won't come with any special optics like the Nokia N95. GPS navigation, DAB TV, TV-Out and -In and NES emulation rounds off the list of features. Pretty impressive, no?

Cowon A3 announced

Cowon has just announced the A3 portable media player that will oust the current A2. First shipments will arrive early next month, where the 30GB and 60GB models will retail for $349 and $399 respectively. The A3 comes with a 4" TFT LCD display that does 800 x 480 resolution, featuring component, S-Video, and composite video output. As for audio and video codec support, the Cowon A3 does not fall short in any way, accommodating AVI, DivX, XviD, MP4, ASF, MKV, VOB, OGM, WMV 7, H.264, MPEG, DAT, and MTV formats - all at a maximum resolution of 1,280 x 720 at 30fps. A video recorder, voice recorder, an integrated FM radio and a radio recorder rounds off the list of features.

Micron has announced its RealSSD range that will come in a wide variety of form factors and densities, targeting computing, enterprise server and networking applications. These new RealSSDs boast native SATA II interface, low power consumption (less than 2 watts when active), and a rugged, lightweight plastic casing that makes it the perfect candidate where storage solutions in an ultra mobile PC is concerned. The 1.8" and 2.5" RealSSD solid state drives for both notebooks and desktops will come in 32GB and 64GB densities, with mass production to begin in Q1 2008.

Peugeot wants drivers to keep their air conditioning system running all year round, regardless of whether it is winter or not. The main reason behind this idea would be maintaining the effectiveness and efficiency of the A/C system by keeping the internal refrigerant pressure stable. Sony PSP Extended Life Battery Kit

One of the Sony PSP's main gripe would be its poor battery life, and Sony aims to remedy the situation with its PSP Extended Life Battery Kit that works for both the PSP-2000 as well as the original "phatty". Installation is dead easy - all you need to do is slide the new pack into the same slot as the normal battery segment and you're good to go - this time armed with approximately 2,200mAh of power. Battery life is said to be doubled with the new pack, although I'd take that claim with a pinch of salt. Avid PSP gamers will be able to pick up the Sony PSP Extended Life Battery Kit when it is released in North America in the middle of next month for approximately $45, and each purchase comes with panel covers that cater to the original PSP black and light silver hue.
