Photoshop Mobile

Photoshop Mobile

If you were to tell me 10 years ago that cell phones will one day be powerful enough to run Photoshop, I would think that the resident looney house is missing an inmate. Fast forward a decade and you have Photoshop Mobile - although the name is pretty misleading since it doesn't allow any photo editing, but is actually an online storage service. Photoshop Mobile brings 5GB of free storage space to anyone with a Photoshop.com account ID. Folks who fall under the Photoshop Plus category will get four times that amount. Currently, compatible phones include Motorola Q9m/h, Samsung Blackjack I/II, and Palm Treo 750w/700w/wx. Support for other handsets (such as the iPhone, Pearl and RAZR) will come next month. I guess this is great for folks who snap plenty of images on their cell phones and are too lazy to transfer it over to a computer.

iPhone Projector

If you spend an equal amount of time on your iPhone watching movies as well as talking, it would make perfect sense to consider the iPhone Projector. After all, this device helps project a video image of the movie on a nearby surface, giving your eyes some much needed relief instead of staring at such a small display for hours on end. Toshiba Goes Green At IFA

Toshiba Goes Green At IFA

Toshiba wants to do their bit for the environment by announcing a new range of LCD TVs and notebooks at IFA 2008, where the new Toshiba 42XV515D will feature smarter inside parts that helps it reduce the amount of backlights required without sacrificing on quality, thanks to an ‘advanced brightness control’ technique. This technique sips less juice that will go a long way in lowering your monthly power bill if you're a heavy TV user. In addition, the 42XV515D is also 19% lighter than the 2006 predecessor. As for the Portégé R500 series, this updated model will come with more energy efficient features that will help reduce CO2 emissions by 69g a day.

Just Launched - New Sony Walkman Players

Just Launched - New Sony Walkman Players

Sony just launched new Walkman portable media players: the S, E and B Series. The most interesting one is the high-end S-Series. It comes with a new music management software that's built to be friendly with music collection ripped from CDs (non-DRM files). It also supports windows media video with DRM (WMV) and can play video at 30fps on the 2" QVGA (320x240) LCD display. We would have preferred DivX or H.264, but both are not mentioned anywhere in the specifications. For travelers, the S-Series can act as a noise-cancelling device. If it is anything like previous models, I can tell you that it does reduce noise, but I don't expect it to be as good as dedicated noise-cancelling headphones - but it's not a bad compromise. If on the contrary, you are in a quiet environment, you can use the internal speakers.
