Live the wireless life with the Logitech Z-500 Wireless Notebook Speakers that have just been announced. This new pair of speakers will rely on high-performance wireless technology that delivers balanced audio from its acoustic drivers without running the risk of having anyone trip due to long, messy wires that have long been a bane. The Z-500 is a snap to install - just connect the speakers to your computer along with the wireless USB dongle and you're good to go. Each $199.99 purchase comes with a rechargeable battery that is good for up to a dozen hours of non-stop playback time before requiring a trip to the nearest power outlet. Those residing in Europe and the US will receive the Logitech Z-500 Wireless Notebook Speakers at the same time - beginning from next month, that is. [Press Release]

Add to myYahoo! I wonder what people would write about me when I die. Something I obviously won’t be able to witness, but lucky for Steve Jobs, he can proof read his! While updating the Apple founder’s obituary, the folks down at Bloomberg News accidentally published the story, giving us a full 17 page description of the icon’s life [...]

Kyle Lechtenberg has designed the Visual Assistance Card that will help visually impaired users keep their personal information private, allowing them to shop in just about any store. It works by laying on top of the debit/credit card reader, relying on Braille imprinted on the card to keep everything hush hush. I know that there is just a small percentage of clerks who wouldn't think twice about ripping off a blind person, but better safe than sorry these days. The Visual Assistance Card, being light weight is a snap to carry around, so hopefully it will roll out soonest possible before more visually impaired people experience credit card fraud due to unscrupulous people.

Add to myYahoo! If the thought of shelling out upwards of 500 quid on proper surround sound speakers fills you with dread, Philips might have something for you. This is a miniature home cinema set up designed for those with a small budget, or for people who want decent sound quality for the second TV in their bedroom. Unfortunately, we're yet to find out the price, since this will make all the difference as to whether it's the Best Thing Ever or Something Else Entirely.![]()

The Hidden Radio was not named that way because it came with some sort of invisibility cloak, but due to the fact that there is nary a button in sight. Yes sir, the Hidden Radio is completely button-less, requiring you to twist, lift or push it instead to manipulate the volume. Designed by Australian John Van Den Nieuwenhuizen, this concept model is meant to go against the grain where most devices these days come with more buttons than a nuclear arsenal control panel. Turning the Hidden Radio will help you tune in to the station you desire, where the LED light in front will glow brightly/dimmer depending on the current signal strength.

Delta has rolled out a new high-performance e-paper that comes complete with Bridgestone's QR-LPD technology. This new e-paper will be on parade at IFA 2008 Berlin, and is more than capable of storing an image without the need for any power of sorts. In addition, this e-paper won't require a backlight, so that also goes a long way in helping it conserve battery life. I presume juice is sipped only when you want to change the current image. With e-paper technology taking larger steps than ever, it makes perfect sense for future textbooks to come in such formats - it will definitely lighten the physical load that a kid has to carry to school, thick textbooks and all.
