Samsung Series 9 priced

Samsung’s Series 9, a 11.6″ device that is meant to rival the MacBook Air, has just confirmed its price point for those who are budget conscious. Of course, it will cost more than a regular notebook simply because money to compensate for the engineering as well as R&D of its design will need to come from somewhere, right? Prices for the Samsung Series 9 start from $1,199, which is $200 more expensive compared to its Apple counterpart. So far, only one particular make is known, where it will be powered by a 1.33GHz Core i3 processor, 2GB RAM, a 64GB SSD as well as a battery that is touted to run for seven hours thereabouts. If you’re prepared to fork out that kind of money, look out for the Series 9 this coming April. If you want the 13″ model, then it will cost $300 or so more than its MacBook Air rival, so one can only infer that the higher price points on either model is due to the newer processors used compared to the Apple MacBook Airs.

Apple iPad 2 ship times extend to a month
worldwide

Apple’s iPad 2 was launched across 25 countries worldwide recently, and it comes across as no surprise to see really, really long lines that snake around the block for the highly anticipated tablet device. Of course, it goes without saying that people in Australia, UK, Germany and Canada have already started camping out and forming a line as early as last Wednesday – makes us wonder that if they showed that kind of dedicated in the other areas of their lives, surely the productivity rate will soar. As for online ship dates, those also point to high demand – as the original timeline of 2 to 3 weeks has been increased to 3 to 4 weeks, signifying the huge demand for the device. If you don’t mind lining up to get one, by all means go ahead, otherwise doing it online would probably be better for the economy on the whole since you can spend your time working instead of waiting in line.

HTC Thunderbolt to receive Gingerbread update in
Q2 2011

Let’s just put it this way – if you want an Android-powered phone that has the latest operating system version all the time, then you’d better get something with the word “Google” in its name, such as the Nexus S. Otherwise, be prepared to wait as carriers and manufacturers get their act together. It seems that the recently released HTC Thunderbolt will only be getting its Android 2.3 Gingerbread update sometime in Q2, which is better than other handsets that have yet to make an announcement and being stuck on Android 2.2, so just be patient for the next 3 months, all you Thunderbolt owners out there. This doesn’t come across as a surprise in any way since most of the new HTC smartphones that run on the Android operating system will roll out with Android 2.3. Now for an official confirmation…

Motorola pre-release software for the Atrix 4G

We covered news that Motorola has confirmed that there will be some sort of software release fix for the Atrix 4G in the near future, although back then, we had absolutely no idea on what the update will come with, albeit keeping our fingers crossed that it will fix data connectivity issues on the Atrix 4G. Well, good thing for patience, as we now have an idea on what kind of bugs will be squashed in software version 4.1.57, where among them include improved fingerprint reader performance, better battery performance, a display that turns off automatically when charged directly via a wall charger, improved stability for the handset and improved car dock performance. Too bad voice quality and upload speeds are not covered in this update which weighs in at 17MB, so we guess you will need to wait some more for that.

Finnish handset maker Nokia has accidentally spilled the evidence of working on yet another Symbian^3 based phone – Nokia T7-00. Kensington PowerLift Back-Up Battery, Dock and
Stand for iPhone Review

I must admit, the Kensington PowerLift has slowly grown on me during its review period. It has its flaws (which will be thoroughly covered later in the review), and I’m just not sure how much practical application one could find for it (especially considering its $ 50 price tag). But this little external battery does a great job of its base function, which is giving your mobile Apple product (i.e. iPhone) a significantly longer operating life. While Kensington’s advertising Read Full Article
