Nokia might be seen to be struggling among the other handset manufacturers today, but that doesn’t mean they are out of the game just yet – no sir, they still control a sizeable amount of user bases across developing countries such as India. Well, the company might just release four more Symbian-powered handsets in due time, where they are touted to feature 1GHz processors within. At least two of them, codenamed the 701 Helen and 700 Zeta, are touted to ship with Symbian Belle (that’s the update after Symbian Anna), sporting screen sizes in the 3.2″ to 3.5″ range. Display technologies do vary between all four, including options such as NFC support.
The 701 Helen does seem as though it will be the workhorse among the four, while the 700 Zeta will target the more trend conscious with a slimmer form factor. As for the 600 Cindy, that will be a media-focused device while the 500 Fate seems to be the most affordable among them all. No idea on when these will arrive, but stay tuned as we dig for more word on them.

Everyone who is a loyal follower of T-Mobile USA’s happenings will be pleased to know that the mobile carrier has already teased its fan base with a trio of images on their Facebook post which might usher in the T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide any day now. This is interesting, whereby it is one of the rare moments where a leaked image (or images) of the device did not appear on the Internet before an official announcement. Surely the slide image on the far right in the composite above gives the game away, no?
What you see above is actually from T-Mobile’s Facebook status, and the status mentions that “Big news is on the way” – so why not just give the official statement already without keeping us waiting? The myTouch 4G Slide is also known as the HTC Doubleshot, where it is tipped to come with a dual-core processor, 768MB RAM, a 3.7″ WVGA display, an 8-megapixel camera with dual LED flash, and HTC’s Sense 3.0 interface complete with enhancements that were created exclusively for the myTouch.

Could the Nokia Sea Ray smartphone be a precursor of things to come with where Windows Phone 7 handsets are concerned? It seemed that the Sea Ray lacked any physical buttons (on the front, at least), with theories flying around that this was because the phone has not been finalized, hence the lack of buttons at the moment with their addition to come later on. Perhaps, but there are other schools of thought as well as Windows Phone 7 might just take a cue from Android and ditching physical buttons once and for all – at least according to famed news breaker Eldar Murtazin from Russia. According to Eldar, the Windows Phone 7 Mango update will no longer require manufacturers to include physical function buttons on the front of a device.
Does this sound good to you, or do you still prefer some physical buttons because they result in lesser accidental presses compared to virtual buttons? Apart from that, Microsoft did place hardware requirements prior to this, so doing a 180-degree turn might not be in their character. What do you think?

E Ink displays aren’t just for e-book readers, as they have now been put to good use on, of all places, credit cards. Yes, those pieces of plastic which tend to have you pay much more than you actually can afford because you lack the financial nous and discipline. When placed in a credit card, it will help in security issues whenever you make online purchases, as each time you want to make a transaction, press a button and a new security number will be generated on the display itself, making it virtually impossible to copy to boot. With E Ink displays on a disposable item, if this idea catches on, you can expect to see future disposable items featuring E Ink displays as well. Read on after the jump to view a video of it in action.

Acer’s Cromia 700, their first notebook which will be powered by Google’s Chrome operating system, is set to roll out sometime “this month” according to some industry sources. This is an 11.6″ model that will sport Wi-Fi connectivity, where it is expected to retail for a mere $350 to make it nigh affordable for most folks. Of course, there will be a 3G model that is in the pipeline, although no definite release date for that model has been announced apart from a rather vague “summer”, at a $450 price tag.

Set top boxes are dime a dozen, and Hauppauge has a spanking new device that allows you to view live TV remotely – never mind if you’re a Mac or Windows user, thanks to the Broadway box. All shows can be watched over a Wi-Fi connection – basically letting you have a pseudo-TV in just about any room, or even view it remotely over a Web browser. The Broadway box is said to come with a multi-format TV receiver which is capable of tuning in to clear QAM digital and ATSC over-the-air standard and high-definition channels.
Sounds familiar? That’s because the Slingbox also does the same thing, but Broadway does not have a “mobile device tax” that charges you extra in order to watch live TV on mobile devices. Basically, the Broadway box will hook up to an existing cable or satellite set-top box, alongside an 802.11g or better router to get the job done.

Most companies have been geared towards marketing technology and their products to the younger generation: from kids to adults but most of the time they ignore the elderly. Well that’s where Independa comes in. The company has been creating products to enrich the lives of the elderly all this while, and it has recently announced the launch of a new product called Angela ? a tablet app designed for the elderly.

When it comes to warfare on the seven seas and underneath the surface, you might not have the advantage of summoning the Kraken from the deep, but you have a powerful tool at your disposal to detect ships and submarines – sonar. How do you cloak your navy from the enemy? Painting them blue won’t cut it, but how about the idea of acoustic cloaking? There is a new design for sound cloaking that might just make it easier to hide ships from sonar, while helping us design better concert halls.

Will there be a new iPhone? Yes. What will the new iPhone be called? Frankly, we don’t know. Could the iPhone 4S be just a hardware refresh of the current model, or could it be the iPhone 5 in disguise that is touted to come with the A5 processor that is found in the iPad 2? Only time will tell, but another investment research did cite their sources in Taiwan which point towards Apple’s fifth-generation iPhone which will arrive sometime in Q3, dubbing it the iPhone 4S. Guess that more or less confirms the earlier piece that we reported.
The new iPhone is said to go by the code name “N94″, with the presumed marketing name “iPhone 4S”. Guess this will end up being an evolutionary upgrade for the current iPhone instead of functioning as a redesign as with prior iPhone releases. There will also be no low-cost or affordable iPhone model in the immediate future, according to said source as well, so you can forget about that, too.

Heard of Andy Pad before? No? Well, they’re a UK-based company that will be rolling out a bunch of new tablets to the masses in due time, having revealed additional details about their future Andy Pad tablets at a private event recently. It is said that the tablets will be comprised of two models – a basic version which will come with 8GB of internal memory and a resistive touchscreen display, while the other would be its flagship model, sporting 16GB of storage space. It is said that the former will cost you around $200 after conversion, while the latter is around $270. $270 for the flagship model sounds extremely conservative, then again, it isn’t on par with the high capacity iPad 2 and Galaxy Tab models. Hopefully Andy Pad would have thrown in Wi-Fi connectivity at the very least, with a 3G option to help you remain connected on your tablet at all times.
