Gadget time-out.
Lately I've come to love cricket once again. Seeing the Aussie destroy the Kiwis a couple of days ago and now the Indians, gives me a sense of pride - my team is winning!
Haven't felt this way since Michael Jordan was in his prime.
Thank you to Brett Lee, Ricky Ponting, Michael Clarke, Adam Gilchrist and Matthew Hayden for making a good game a great game to watch :)

Add to myYahoo!Apple has patented a transactions system that would allow customers with Apple devices to place an order, and receive a pick-up notification in places like cafes - this is just an example, the system could be used for many more things. Of course, the customer?s preferences could also be archived for further use like making your next order easier or spamming you to death with targeted advertising (I?m just speculating here).
Anyhow, from a business standpoint, that seems fantastic: Not only Apple gets awesome raw data that it can possibly monetize later, but you could also imagine that Apple would ask for a share of each transaction, just like Visa and Mastercard do? Link to the long, boring patent, written in Lawyer

This W7 GPS from Reigncom is not as big as it might seem: it has a 3” display and can have up to 8GB of storage. All of it is not for the maps: it is also a portable multimedia player (as many GPS these days), a dictionary. It can be extended with a car kit that contains: power supply, dock, miniSD card, miniSD adapter (for the computer).

Zhang Xiachang (in the photo) is a Chinese researcher that has created this paper-like battery that is 0.5mm thick and can be bent and rolled like paper. It looks much more advanced than the paper-thin battery that we posted about back in August.
We don’t know what the battery life looks like for this one, but we have a question: can we get a paper-like eBook now? With progress made flexible displays, and now this battery, it seems that paper-like eBook are ever closer. Would you like to have one “magazine” that could download all the stuff that you would ever want to read?
