Any Tom, Dick, and Harry can be seen on YouTube, but if you want to draw in the audience, you had better do something that will captivate everyone's attention - and this is where the mi VDO FX digital video camera comes in handy. It allows you to jazz up your home-grown production with up to 18 built-in special effects (presumably similar to those found on most modern digital cameras). After all, watching a video shot with a negative filter is definitely more impressive than an ordinary version. Other features include the ability to record directly from a digital audio player during filming, on-the-fly editing, 4x digital zoom, an SD memory card slot (up to 2GB), and an 1.5" color LCD display.

The ReadMyHeart 100 handheld ECG unit enables you to monitor your heart's electrical activity from the comfort of home, allowing you to keep tabs on whether you're at risk of a stroke without having to visit the doctor oh-so often. The device itself comes in a zipperd hard shell case that provides ample protection, and looks like a prototype of the DS at first glance. It is powered by a couple of AA batteries and comes with a USB port to transfer collected data. All you need to do is place your thumbs on the pads for 25 seconds in order to get a reading of your heart's electrical activity. Results up to a month can be stored, so once it is full remember to transfer older records to a computer via the USB cable. The ReadMyHeart 100 retails for $349.99 if you're interested in picking one up.

Rumor has it that LG will be preparing a Windows Mobile smartphone, and the one which we see here could be it. It share a lot of the LG Prada's styling cues, and also resembles the KU900 as well. Word on the street has it that this smartphone will be powered by Windows Mobile 6 as expected, bringing GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as UMTS to the table. HSPDA is still unconfirmed, but that would be a bonus if included. Other features on the grapevine include a WVGA display (800 x 480 resolution) and a camera of unknown megapixel count. Well, let's just sit this one out and wait for an official announcement to get a clearer picture.

The JOBO PDJ701 Photo Display sports 1GB of integrated memory which isn't much these days, considering how you can already pack in 32GB of data on a single SDHC card. Features are pretty much the market average, staying on the safe side without really breaking any new ground. For instance, you get a 7" 800 x 480 resolution LCD display, memory expansion slots for CF, SD, MMC, Memory Stick, and xD formats, and a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that comes in handy when you lack an AC power outlet. The JOBO PDJ701 will retail for approximately $179, and for $20 less, there is a 128MB version. Who'd get that model, I wonder?

The Planetarium Tellurium clock from Richard Mille is one mean looking timepiece, giving you a glimpse of how our Solar System works at an unprecedented level of detail. You get to view the exact positions of the Earth,Venus, Mercury, the Sun, and the moon all at a glance. Heck, you'll even be able to tell the current Zodiac sign with this thing, although the easier method that won't strain your brain would be to refer with Google. These clocks will eventually be produced for commercial purposes, but with the amount of detail thrown in and its accuracy levels, it is safe to say that you'll need a substantial amount of Benjamins to purchase one.

Add to myYahoo!Has the Alien franchise jumped the shark? The last decent Alien film released on the big screen was "Alien3", and that was sixteen years ago. (Actually, by decent I mean the version of "Alien3" released on the Alien Quadrilogy DVD set.) But I digress. I geeked out over the first AVP film, in retrospect probably more because someone finally...
