Small N64 controller guaranteed to cramp your
hands

video details and more

While playing with this super small N64 controller is going to cramp your hands in the long run, and for the more sensitive among us, just after a short while of gaming, it should not be equated to something like the foot binding practice in ancient China which was extremely painful for the women. After all, the women of the day did not have a choice or say as to whether they wanted their feet to be bound or not, but you can always walk away from this tiny N64 controller instead and use a full sized controller for your gaming pleasure.  (more…)

Nintendo to offer downloadable 3DS and Wii U
retail games

Nintendo might be considered to be a video game pioneer in so many ways, but that does not mean that they are always in the forefront of innovation. No sir, having endured their most horrendous financial quarter in eons, here we have word that Nintendo has finally seen the light of offering downloadable versions of games for the 3DS as well as upcoming Wii U (which has been confirmed not to be priced at the upcoming E3 event). This would mean Nintendo is playing catch up to its competition, but this move is hardly a surprising one considering how the success of digital distribution in the form of downloads have proved to be successful for the Xbox 360 and PS3. Solidoodle 3D printer is actually very affordable

video details and more

Most of the time, new and modern technology tend to end up being very expensive, and early adopters more often than not need to fork out a very high price in order to secure their position as such. When we talk about 3D printers, most of us would most probably think that it is going to cost a bomb, as 3D printers are nothing but the playthings of the rich. Not quite, really, and if you can remember the MakerBot Replicator that cost $2,000 as demonstrated at CES in 2011, it still proved out of reach for the majority of the people out there, which is why the company?s COO, Samuel Cervantes, decided to take things into his own hands literally by working on the Solidoodle 3D printer. The asking price? A mere $500. (more…)

Google TV gets updated YouTube app

The YouTube app on Google TV has just been updated, so you can be sure that your viewing experience over the TV is a whole lot more interactive and fun from now on, not to say that it wasn’t so previously, but you get my drift. Recommendations, channel search, a better playback and the +1 button on videos are all new features that you have not taken advantage of before, and we shall look at those in closer detail right after the talking about recommendations here. The My YouTube tab will organize all your videos in YouTube through the Recommendations option for a more relevant user experience. Similar to a living, breathing playlist, Recommendations introduces you to the creative world of YouTube creators, even letting you see how mundane, everyday items such as pillows, a car wash, and taxidermy are related. Human Dynamo Jacket concept design

Turning your everyday activity into something fruitful such as generating energy and stashing it somewhere is always a bonus, and there have been some mathematical calculations done in the past that show that estimates might eventually hit a high of approximately 130 Watts of potentially usable juice, turning kinetic energy into a more usable form that we call electrical energy. Footfalls generate around 67W which would make it the highest “grossing” movement, while arm motion has around 60W. If you prefer to pick your nose, then lifting a finger will generate only approximately 10mW. As for the Human Dynamo Jacket (HuMo jacket for short), this concept design intends to harvest the body’s motion by turning kinetic energy generated into electrical energy. Where does all of this electricity end up? Well, it is used to light up LEDs for enhanced visibility.
