CNet has more skinny on the new NW-S20x series of digital audio players from Sony. Both models are available in black only and come bundled with a pair of sport earphones and an armband. Sony decided to throw in a built-in stopwatch with split second capability that will stop any tracks currently playing when the timer winds down. This is great for those who want to better their times while exercising. Another interesting feature are the variable playlists that change accordingly, depending on whether you are walking or running. The NW-S203 and NW-S205 models retail for $120 and $150 respectively.

Green Apple from China has recently updated its APOD line of media players with the AP3100. This device sports a 3.6" color LCD screen, an SD memory card expansion slot, and a 1.3 megapixel camera. The AP3100 supports the most common audio, graphic, and video formats including MP3, WMA, FLAC, JPG, GIF, BMP, AVI, DivX, and XviD. Green Apple is even so kind as to throw in a SNES emulator, so you can play Super Mario Kart wherever you go now without purchasing a Game Boy Advance SP. It measures 4.72" x 2.56" x 0.67" and carries just 512MB of internal memory. This can be remedied by carting around a few 4GB SD cards though. Pricing and availability details are currently unknown.

One of the more intriguing offerings for the DS Lite involves the Touch Generations line-up telling you how to cook. There's a menu (of the computer variety) and a navigation sequence with pictures and nutritional information at each step, and the DS Lite actually speaks things like "Add the butter to the pan" or "Turn on the oven". Given computers seem to have replaced Home Economics in school, it's only fitting that they're now going to teach it. The DS Cooking Navigator is only in Japanese now, but then again, if the pictures look that good, maybe... Or maybe I'm just hungry now. [GT]

I once did a web design job where the client bailed halfway through, and my contact paid me half what was agreed - sending some Monopoly money for the remainder. Would I have been happier with a fake VISA card from the new version Parker Brothers is developing? Well no, but you might be. The new Monopoly will come with custom faux VISA cards and a swiper that giveth and taketh away. Apparently it'll cost twice as much, so be sure to land on Free Parking to help cover it. The Hasbro site doesn't list this yet, so if you've a hankering to either save some real dollars or just like the feel of brightly coloured bills, go grab one of the old school variety while you can.
