Musing on Apple Building a Television

HTC Vigor spotted in the wild

HTC VigorThe mysterious Android phone with a 720p resolution display known as the HTC Vigor has finally made an appearance in the flesh. The folks over at Droid-Life managed to get their hands on some photographs showing the device in the flesh, and true to Mr. Blurrycam’s photo-taking skills, the device looks pretty blur ? but it is sharp enough for us to make out the details on it. Judging by first impressions, the HTC Vigor eerily looks a lot like the HTC Incredible.

Motorola DROID Bionic official pictures leak

Motorola DROID Bionic

After the arrival of the DROID Bionic shirts, the launch of the video teaser, and leaked photographs of the phone all we’re missing is the official announcement/press release and shots of the phone. Well it looks like we can cross one of those off the list. The Pop Herald has managed to land itself exclusive shots of the upcoming super phone from Motorola that’s headed to Verizon’s network. Although the images are low-res (apparently they were intended for an online store), they’re large enough for us to feast our eyes on.

FEMA Android app arrives just in time for
Hurricane Irene

FEMA appThere’s an app for everything ? yes, including one for surviving the impending Hurricane Irene that’s scheduled to hit tomorrow. The folks at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) have just released an app to help the public deal with such situations. The app contains preparedness information for different types of disasters (so it’s not just for hurricanes) so that users know how to prepare themselves and deal with them.

The app contains an interactive checklist for making your own emergency kits, a section to plan emergency meeting locations, information on how to stay safe and recover after a disaster, a map with FEMA Disaster Recovery Center locations and Shelters, and a list of things the public can do to get involved before and after a disaster. The FEMA app is currently only available for Android devices, though we can expect it to arrive on other platforms in the future. Head over to the Android Market to download the app for your phone now and if you’re living on the East Coast, start preparing for the hurricane.

UFO Filmed By ISS Flying Over Hurricane Irene

A UFO is not an alien craft, or a secret spy plane, or an extra-dimensional object. A UFO is an Unidentified Flying Object – which could be space debris or a satellite, a spy plane, or anything that is flying, unidentified and an object. We will leave it to your imagination to determine what exactly the object in this video is.
