Let’s face it, Personal Mobility Robots (PMR) aren’t as cool as they were years ago, but controlling anything aside from a Nintendo Wii using the Wiimote is always a cool affair, and that’s what some of the brains over at the University of Tokyo have done. What will the Wiimote control next? Perhaps it’s possible that in the future that we’ll discover pilots in the cockpit were really using Wiimotes to fly us around the world, eh?

Considering the troubles that Palm is going through at the moment and the fact that Radioshack is keen to dump its Palm inventory, it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise to see that Sprint is now offering its Palm Pixi for free via its online portal. The catch (as there always is one) is that you’ll have to agree to a two-year contract, which probably isn’t too bad if you’re a long term Sprint customer anyways. If you need help deciding whether the Palm Pixi is the phone for you, why not check out our comprehensive Palm Pixi review?

One of the greatest weapons of Apple’s iPhone is its well-populated App Store. So far, not even Google’s Android Market has been able to beat Apple’s online mobile store, but the search engine giant is certainly doing a good job of catching up. This, along with the price change in the Mac developer license led to speculation that Apple would be considering coming up with an App Store for OS X too. And if you take into account the incredible success of the App Store, it’s not hard to believe that such a thing could happen. That being said, Steve Jobs has apparently replied an email to a user, denying (in his usual short email style) that OS X 10.7 will be getting an App Store, effectively quashing the rumors (for the time being at least). Would you be happy if there were an App Store for OS X, or are you perfectly content with the way you install software on your Mac now?

If you’re one of those folks who are really looking forward to the upcoming Nokia N8, which is still unannounced at this point in time, you might be a little disappointed. Eldar Murtazin, the person behind Mobile-Review, has managed to get his hands on a unit of the Nokia N8, and based on his feedback of the device, it doesn’t look like the N8 is going to entice iPhone or Android users anytime soon. The Symbian^3 OS that powers the phone might be something you’re looking forward to, but aside from features such as true multitasking and multiple home screens, there really isn’t very much to shout about. The technical specifications of the N8 which include a 12-megapixel shooter capable of 720p video recording and the glass multi-touch display are nice things to have, but probably aren’t enough to make you choose this phone over its competitors. Do you think Nokia can add anything to the N8 before it (possibly) arrives in mid-July to improve it?

When it rains it pours. Just last week we found someone who managed to get Google’s Android OS running on Apple’s iPhone, and now another site has posted instructions on how to do just that. It involves quite a few steps, so if you’re the lazy type, this might not be for you. But if you do go through all the trouble, the user claims to be able to get Android 1.6 running on the original iPhone 2G. There’s a video showing you the whole process too, in case you can’t seem to visualize the steps without a video.
Note: If you do intend to give this a try, do bear in mind that you do so at your own risk. We haven’t tested this on our iPhone yet, so we can’t confirm that it won’t make your iPhone burst into a ball of fire.

(TrendHunter.com) James Mylne can work wonders with a Bic pen. His drawing of Johannes Vermeer’s “The Girl with a Pearl Earring” is amazing in its detail and accuracy. I wouldn’t have believed this was done with a pen if? From TREND HUNTER – The Latest Trends
