It was more or less confirmed that Apple will be working on a cheaper iPhone, and some claim that this could very well be the iPhone 4S that will be launched with the iPhone 5 when October rolls around. It is said that the iPhone 4S will rely on a different set of components, featuring just 8GB of storage space as a move to reduce manufacturing costs. While Apple is at it, why not change the antenna design as well?

No, the HTC Omega is not a mash up between phone manufacturer HTC as well as watch maker Omega – instead, the HTC Omega has been rumored to be a Windows Phone-powered handset that has long remained a paper phone – at least until today, where its first batch of press photos have emerged.

If you think that HTC Sense 3.0 is rockin’ on your Android powered HTC smartphone, I think it won’t be out of place to say that “wait until you see HTC Sense 3.5″. It was reported that the upcoming HTC Bliss will feature the latest version of HTC Sense, and XDA China actually came up with some screenshots of the latest version of HTC Sense, or at least a representation of what they think it would look like when it finally arrives.

Apple hires iPhone hacker, Comex

Not too long after Apple hired Peter Hajas, it looks like the company is on the hunt for more iOS developers/hackers again. This time, a hacker who goes by the name of Comex (real name Nicholas Allegra), has been selected to be an intern at the Cupertino company. Comex, a member of the iPhone Dev Team who is known for some high-profile jailbreak exploits like the recent web-based JailbreakMe, will be starting work at Apple the week after next according to a Tweet he posted recently.

It wasn’t mentioned what Comex will be doing at Apple, but given his prowess in cracking iOS’ security, he’ll probably be working on something related. Judging by the recent interns that Apple has chosen to hire, it looks like hacking iOS or developing software for jailbroken devices has positive consequences. I wonder which member of the jailbreaking scene will Apple be picking up next? Any guesses?

With the HP TouchPad on sale for $99, it’s pretty much impossible to get your hands on one at this point of time, let alone a white-colored version of the tablet. Well, one lucky webOSroundup forum member managed to snag one before HP announced the discontinuation of webOS devices and started recalling them from stores nationwide. He had placed the order the day it went up for sale in the UK in the very same week, before HP made the announcement.

Fortunately his order got processed and he managed to snag one of these tablets. Pages that used to host links for the white TouchPad now lead to laptops in the UK, or Sold Out pages in the US, so it’s uncertain how many of these were sent out. But those of you who picked one up, consider yourselves very lucky, and hang on to it. Depending on whether HP chooses to start selling off the remaining stock of the white webOS tablet, you might be able to make a fortune off eBay in the future.
