It looks like "the channel" is getting information that we don't. FutureShop has added a 6 placeholders in its product database for upcoming apple products.
Of course, these products could be anything, but we would like to think that they are for upcoming desktop computers or macbooks, although we tend to think that new macbooks will be released in January. Stay tuned!

Our friends from Mobility Today found the first pictures of the Motrola Q11 smartphone. We mentioned the smartphone earlier this month, when small amounts of information leaked on the web. The device is obviously from the "Q" family of Windows Mobile devices, but hey, we're always curious about new smartphones! So far, we know that it has WIFI, GPS, Windows Mobile 6.1. Head to this page to see more photos. Stay tuned.

The word on the street is that Apple's Brick has been designed to break Windows. This brainy deduction comes from macenstein. Anyhow, what we think is that it has to be an entry-level computer. There's no way that Apple can take a significant market share from Windows if they don't have a low-priced vehicle to drive market adoption.
Now, if we are talking about low-price, I suspect that this would be a desktop machine (a redesigned Mac-mini?), because Apple still needs a decent level of processing power to create a user experience added-value. Granted, it could also be a cheap laptop, but I don't think that Apple will play the Nettop game - at least not until they have a special (light) version of Mac OS X. Well may be they do, but right now, nothing indicates it. Apple did say that their margins would suffer from new products introduction... (photo source)

Add to myYahoo! The magazine EDGE believes that "third parties are abandoning" the Sony PSP. This comes from the remark made by Sony's worldwide studio executive Shuhei Yoshida who is quoted saying: … It's really, really disappointing and it's a lost opportunity for the third parties,” . He goes on to cite examples of successful franchises.
Anyhow, this graph (right) from the magazine would suggest that PSP developers are less prolific. Normally, the number of titles should grow year over year as developers and publishers try to leverage their expertise of the platform. I agree with the fact that there seems to be less titles (and cool ones) coming out for PSP.
This is a business problem: I've heard developers/publishers complain about piracy issues with the PSP 1000 and PSP 2000 firmware. The PSP 3000 might stem piracy a little, but who knows for how long? Sony has to reach out to convince developers that they can make money one way or another. It can be marketing help or more financial incentives (royalties) - all the "proven" recipes. Will Sony do it? Probably: now that PS3 is doing ok, the PSP's priority just went up.

If you go on a camping trip, or worse, if a natural disaster struck, the last thing that you would want is to be stuck with one of these lame wind-up FM-radio-only device, right? With the Eco Media Player Revolution, you can throw a party with real music, thanks to its 4GB of storage - although you might have a speaker issue... err, forget it. That's not all, it can also be used to provide juice to your cellphone and that can be a lifesaver (if the network still works, anyways). The bad news: it costs $241. Yup, crazy.

The Palit Radeon HD 4870 features great performance for the price, but this board has the particularity of having four video output options: Analog VGA, DVI (dual-link), HDMI (HDCP) and DisplayPort. That gives it a good potential for a multi-purpose high-end PC (Gaming PC + Home Theater PC). If you're really picky on performance, you can push the GPU to 775Mhz (from 750Mhz), but honestly who cares at that point? Also, I do like the cooling: that looks like two (low-rpm) 80mm fans and I'm sure that they are a lot quieter than the small (fast-spinning) ones found on other boards...
