The LG Optimus LTE (LG LU6200) seems to be LG’s worst kept secret, as the phone has been surfacing like nobody’s business over the past week. Some new pictures have surfaced of the phone have surfaced again, and this time you get a clearer look at the phone’s hardware. This one sports chrome stylings as opposed to the all black version we’ve seen previously (unless the previous pictures showed black trim due to poor lighting), which makes it look a little iPhone-ish (which could be a good or bad thing depending on your taste). Hopefully it doesn’t draw the wrath of Apple and its lawyers.

While the Motorola XOOM was the first Android Honeycomb tablet on the market, it didn’t exactly create a huge splash when it was released earlier this year. Well, it looks like Motorola is out to try it’s hand at the tablet market again with the release of a successor to its first tablet ? the XOOM 2. First hinted at in some leaked screenshots taken from the Motorola website, there hasn’t really been any news about the tablet ? until today.

Remember Rocksmith, the game that was introduced way back in March at the SXSW event this year? Well, we’re getting closer to its release date (October 18th), and Ubisoft has announced that it will be supporting co-op play from the same console and on the same TV ? unfortunately you’ll need to purchase an accessory in order to make it possible (not to mention you’ll need a second guitar lying around the house as well).
Called the Real Tone Cable, the ¼” to USB cable will be released in the US at the same time as the game’s launch and will turn the analog signals from your electric guitar into digital signals that can be recognized and played through the console. The cable will be 11.25′ in length and will carry an MSRP of $29.99. Rocksmith players won’t have to be lonely while playing the game anymore. Any of you looking forward to picking this game up when it is released next month?

Google+ was finally opened to everybody a few days ago, and yesterday, it’s been reported that the number of people using the service has increased by 30%! Talk about a massive influx of new users to the service. Calculated by Paul Allen, an unofficial statistician for Google+, he estimates that Google+ now has 43.4 million users. Considering how the service has only been up for a few months, it’s quite an impressive feat (though it’s a long way off from Facebook’s 800 million active users).
With Facebook’s recent introduction of the Timeline profile, the two networks are going to be quite different from one other ? which is a good thing in my opinion. After all why would anybody want to use two of the same thing? Google is keeping it simple and minimalistic, while Facebook seems to be going in the opposite direction by letting users add even more about themselves on the network. Both services have their merits, so I guess we’ll continue to see users using Facebook and Google+ instead of completely migrating to one. Have you tried Google+ yet? What do you think of it so far?

It looks like Comcast has plans to release a new service that allows consumers to watch Live TV from their tablets ? as long as it’s connected to their home WiFi network. The service is called AnyPlay, and requires a special Motorola box which takes the live cable stream and sends it directly to the Xfinity TV iPad app over a local wireless network. However, it won’t work over 3G/4G networks or from other locations, so it’s going to be restricted to a home-only service.
Unfortunately AnyPlay will only let users watch live TV on only one tablet at a time, which shouldn’t be a problem unless you live in a house where a lot of people want to watch different live programs at the same time. No word on when it will be released or how much AnyPlay will cost, but we’ll let you know once it’s official.

In an attempt to crack down on Xbox users who modify their consoles or hack their systems, Microsoft dished out quite a number of bans on users of Xbox Live. However, a number of accounts were banned wrongfully due to a software error. Today Microsoft announced that it will be restoring access to those consoles that were banned by the mistake and will be compensating them with three free months of Xbox Live and 1600 Microsoft Points (worth $20) for the inconvenience.
Fortunately users won’t have to do anything about it ? they just need to try and log on to the Xbox Live network again. Since Microsoft knows which individual consoles were affected, the company will be applying everything automatically ? no need for keys or redemption tokens. Microsoft will also no longer be using the software that caused the error, so if your console was wrongfully banned in this mishap; it’s unlikely to happen again… hopefully you weren’t one of the few people who purchased a brand new Xbox 360 before Microsoft issued the unbanning.
