Sonos ZoneBridge BR100

Sonos ZoneBridge BR100

Here's more on the Sonos ZoneBridge BR100 - this device makes it a cinch to set up and extend an all-wireless Sonos Digital Music System. It will deliver several key benefits, where the first of these is the ability to activate SonosNet that enables wireless music distribution through a home once it is connected to a router by placing Sonos ZonePlayers anywhere in your abode. Secondly, the BR-100 can extend the range of SonosNet as long as you place one between the remote music zone and the rest of the Sonos system. You can even control it from the palm of your hand via the Sonos Controller, giving you plug-and-play access to virtually millions of songs ranging from online music and radio services to your personal downloaded MP3 collection. Pick up the versatile Sonos ZoneBridge BR-100 for $99 today.

Wireless sensors powered by vibrations

Wireless sensors powered by vibrations Fancy having wireless bridge sensors that are powered not by solar energy, but vibrations resulting from passing traffic? Well, researchers at Clarkson University, NY, have developed just that to make the life of bridge maintenance personnel easier since there no longer will be a need to replace batteries that are installed in hard-to-reach locations. This allows companies to monitor the bridge (ice conditions, traffic flows, health status, et al) without the need for battery maintenance, up to decades in theory. Harvesting kinetic energy is not new - remember those Citizen watches that ran perpetually? Any idea that helps conserve energy is a good one in my book, and good thing this is also a practical solution.

Touchscreen iMac rumors

Touchscreen iMac rumors

Word on the street has it that a touchscreen iMac is in the works, including the possibility of the final product being a Mac tablet. While this might sound a little crazy a couple of years' back, the hugely successful iPhone release makes such a device all the more tantalizing. Imagine using multi-touch technology while manipulating images in Photoshop, or working on virtual knobs and faders in music creation programs like ProTools without the need for a mouse. Would the release of a Mac tablet actually bring about the desired revolutionary effect that a Windows-based tablet was supposed to do? More importantly, would you pick up a Mac tablet if it was available?

LG releases 32-inch plasma TV

LG releases 32-inch plasma TV I'm not too sure what you'd want to do with a 32" plasma TV since at that size there really isn't any obvious advantage over LCD technology, but LG has gone ahead and released its 32PC5RV 32" plasma TV in Brazil this month, to be followed by a worldwide roll-out to 27 countries by November. Touted to be the smallest and slimmest plasma TV available, the 32PC5RV comes with an aspect ratio of 16:9 and an amazing response time of 0.001ms. That's really fast - great for action movie buffs as well as those who live and breathe sports programs.
