Kingston microSDHC memory card family gets 32GB
bump

Kingston is a name that most of us would associate with when it comes to flash memory as well as digital storage media, and they have kept to their word from their March press release that they will further expand the microSDHC memory card family, this time around throwing in a 32GB Class 10 microSDHC card that sports a 10MB per second minimum data transfer rate, making it more than suitable for devices that are more demanding than the rest – including shooting high-resolution photos or capturing High Definition video from a smartphone; after all, both speed and size are important here. Class 10 has already made its way to the masses as being common for full size SD memory cards, but in the mobile world, that is a very different proposition altogether.

LG 4G G-Slate receives FCC teardown treatment

We have seen the FCC tear down the Dell Streak 7 earlier today, so what’s stopping them from taking the LG 4G G-Slate tablet apart as well? This Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet will sport an 8.9″ display at 1280 × 768 resolution, a dual-core 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor (dual-core processors seem to be all the rage these days, but if only programmers and software engineers will write optimized code for such processors all the time), 1GB RAM, 32GB of internal memory, and a 6,400 mAh battery just in case you were curious. It seems that after tearing it down, we know that the G-Slate will use SDRAM from Samsung, while its flash memory is provided by Toshiba. A Qualcomm baseband processor can also be seen slightly right beside the device?s SIM card slot.

NetGear ADSL modem and router hybrid starts to
ship

NetGear’s latest WNDR3700 router is a dual-core wireless device that sports an integrated N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit ADSL2+ modem, which gives it the privilege of being the first ADSL modem and router hybrid to ship from the company. Known as the “Ultimate Home DSL Gateway“, it will also come with a couple of USB ports to let you share content from USB flash drives as well as external hard drives over a network. The inclusion of a Gigabit Ethernet input lets you connect to cable or fiber networks, and another option to remain connection is done sans wires – that is, using 802.11n Wi-Fi connectivity that will play nice with both 2.4GHz and 5GHz radios.

Kogeto Dot video accessory offers iPhone 4
panoramic view

Kogeto has just announced their latest iPhone 4 accessory to hit the market – simply known as Dot. Dot is something different from the rest, as it functions as a special optical device which is fitted right over the iPhone’s current lens so that you can capture a panoramic 360-degree photo as well as video. Needless to say, all captured video can be uploaded to Facebook or Twitter, and you can go further than that by sharing it with others via Kogeto’s web-based streaming service. The Dot will not fail as there is a custom optic that automatically aligns with the iPhone 4′s built-in camera the moment you “install” it.

Dell Streak 7 stripped down by the FCC

The Dell Streak 7 is the second Android tablet from the PC manufacturer, where it hit the market earlier this year. Of course, for the majority of us, we would have just used the Streak 7 as it is without even bothering to tinker with its innards by opening it up. Well, that is clearly not the case with the good people over at the FCC who have taken the Dell Streak 7 and literally ripped it apart (nicely, of course) so that they are able to get down to the nitty gritty. To know more about what Dell has thrown into the Streak 7, read on after the jump.

Apparently mobile workers work longer hours than
regular staff

Mobile Workers

According to a recent study from iPass that surveyed 3,500 mobile workers (people who aren’t tied down to the office and work on the go) from 1,100 large corporations worldwide, 35% check their email in bed before doing anything else and causes the most friction between workers and their partners.

While all this isn’t very alarming news, it does show how much influence our tiny little cellphones have over our lives. The results showed that mobile workers have a hard time being physically separated from their smartphones ? even when it’s time to sleep. 61% surveyed keep the phone in the bed room, and 41% have it within arm’s reach of where they sleep. 39% of them wake up in the middle of the night to check their smartphones and the number jumps to 58% when it is within arm’s reach.

Apparently mobile workers also work on an average 240 hours per year more than the regular workforce. With that amount of time spent on the phone checking for emails ? it’s unsurprising. How many of you find yourself exhibiting similar behavior? Hit the break for the complete infographic:

Graspy, the PR2 robot, knows how to read

Graspy

The folks over at the University of Pennsylvania were one of the recipients of the Willow Garage PR2 robot giveaway program, last year, and now it looks like they’ve managed to program it into doing something useful. The engineers recently taught the robot how to read using the onboard camera in its head, a method to identify and separate text, and Tesseract optical character recognition (OCR) software to identify the words.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Gameplay Trailer
released

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

After the massive Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 leak that occurred a couple of weeks ago, Infinity Ward has been playing catch up by releasing new material for the game even before the E3 event in a couple of weeks. Last week they gave us a short teaser that didn’t say much about the game, but today, the company has released a trailer with gameplay footage, and I don’t want to jump to conclusions judging from the trailer alone but it does look very impressive.

Explosions, gunfire, huge maps, collapsing buildings, trains, cars, action ? everything you ever wanted in a Call of Duty game. Let’s hope that this trailer isn’t the best thing that Infinity Ward delivers when the game drops later this year, November 8. Hit the break to watch the gameplay trailer and let us know what you think about it:

Rumors About Motorola Droid 3 Specs Begin to
Swirl

Although leaked images of the device have been floating around the Web for a little while now, some alleged details about what’s under the hood of Verizon’s Motorola Droid 3 have only just now begun to emerge. Still adopting the slider design found in its previous iterations, the Droid 3 will supposedly sport a 4-inch, qHD (960 x 540) display, larger than the one in its predecessors, according to what a tipster told TechnoBuffalo. And while the slider design Read Full Article
