A YouTube video uploaded by septemberx on Feb 11, 2010 has been cited in the Apple vs. Samsung legal case. “In a clip from that film lasting about one minute, two astronauts are eating and at the same time using personal tablet computers”. Samsung’s argument is that what Apple calls the “iPad design” (a rectangular, flat computer, to simplify – check the patent) has been seen in prior art, and that Apple did not “invent” the notion of tablet computers.

LG’s Advanced High Performance In-Plane Switching (IPS) LCD display could be powering the next generation of “superphones” from a number of handset makers. LG has recently received props about its color accuracy from Intertek, a company that specializes in certifying the quality of various technologies and products.
I’m not familiar with Intertek’s tests, but according to LG, their conclusion pretty much says what we already knew: just like IPS, AH-IPS, has a better color accuracy than its arch-rival AMOLED, which is a Samsung technology.

MySpace just won’t seem to die. After being revived so many times, each one more unsuccessful than the last, it has been reported that MySpace is going to be resuscitated once again. Specific Media, the latest owner of MySpace, has announced that the social networking service will be relaunched later this year with a new focus on what made it successful in the first place: the music. A good idea, since the social networking web space has already been dominated by Facebook, and recently Google+ (though we don’t know if it can keep up).

Remember the unveiling of TabCo tablet last week which turned out to be the Grid10 tablet from Fusion Garage? Unfortunately while we couldn’t make it to the tablet hands-on event, other sites like CNET managed to, and have published their first impressions and shared a video and some photographs of the tablet. The all-new GridOS looks like it could have been an overlay placed on Honeycomb, so Android users should have no problem using the device, though you gotta admit the screen transitions do look pretty sweet.

When the iPhone first launched in the US, it was only available to AT&T subscribers for a good few years, until the beginning of this year when the carrier’s exclusivity deal with Apple ended and Verizon was brought into the picture as well. Now it looks like there will be a third carrier to join to iPhone-carrying duo in the US ? Sprint. According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, their sources familiar with the matter said that Sprint will be selling the iPhone 5 when it becomes available later this year (rumored to be in mid-October).
If these reports turn out to be true, Sprint having the iPhone will be beneficial to both Sprint and Apple. Apple will get an additional user base of potential customers, while Sprint will get to keep its loyal customers who have been waiting for the iPhone on the network, as well as draw in new subscribers who would want an iPhone on Sprint. However rumors are rumors until we have some solid evidence of it happening, so until then, take this news with a grain of salt. How many of you would like a Sprint iPhone?

The HTC Wildfire S was designed (or at least commercialized) with the moto of ?Live it, Love it, Share it?, and HTC goes as far as calling it a ?superphone that lets you share Everything?. On paper, it looks good: 5 Megapixel camera, social network connectivity, a huge library of apps… But on the inside, the HTC Wildfire S has a seemingly underpowered 600Mhz single-core processor with 512MB of RAM. Of course, raw power doesn?t automatically translate to great user experience, but it often contributes a lot to it. So, is the HTC Wildfire S a ?superphone?? In this review, I?m going to show you the strengths and weaknesses of this smartphone. Ready?

Earlier today, we reported about the rumors of a new handheld console by Nintendo for 2012, well it looks like the new design might be unveiled sooner than we thought. The folks over at the Wall Street Journal reported that Nintendo is currently planning a “Nintendo Conference” that is scheduled to happen on September 13th, and at the event, the company is expected to include a big announcement concerning the 3DS.
At the moment there is no solid evidence to back up any of these rumors or speculations, but analysts believe that Nintendo is in dire need of a new product to make up for the disappointment that the 3DS has been, so the unveiling of a new product at this “Nintendo Conference” makes sense. However, since anything is possible right now, the 3DS-related announcement could just be the arrival of a new game, or even the previously mentioned “second circle pad” for the device (though I doubt Nintendo would make such a big fuss over it). Stay tuned and we’ll keep you in the know.

Zero1.tv has announced the availability of the device at online stores such as BestBuy, Buy, R&H, Ritz Interactiv and BrandsMart. This means that you can pick it up from online stores and from national retailers in the near future.
