Batman: Arkham City Secret of the Joker trailer
released

Batman Arkham CityWhile most superhero adaptations usually don’t make great games, Rocksteady Studios has proven the masses wrong with its highly-acclaimed rendition of Batman: Arkham Asylum that was released in 2009. Now, following in the footsteps of its predecessors, Rocksteady Studios are back with a sequel to the first game with Batman: Arkham City and so far things are looking great. The MTV Multiplayer blog recently got its hands on an exclusive trailer of the game which reveals a little bit more about the game.

While the Joker is no longer the main bad guy, he does play an important role in the game and the trailer shows a bit of his back story as well as his crew. The game looks fantastic as usual, and with veteran Batman writer, Paul Dini helming the story ? Batman fans are bound to be in for a treat. Head over to the source link to check out the exclusive trailer for Batman: Arkham City. The game is scheduled to be released during the week of October 21st 2011.

Kobo goes social with electronic reading

After the f8 keynote, it is time to digest all that was announced, and of course there will be snippets here that make up crumbs of news left. Kobo, one of the major players with e-book readers, knows that exciting times are ahead by offering the next advancement in social eReading that will allow you to engage in conversations with one another when reading. I am not quite sure whether this is something that everyone would approve of though – after all, I do not want to be interrupted when reading, preferring to retreat into a small corner instead with a nice cuppa in hand, some cookies and a good (digital) book.

Internet Explorer 9 Mobile detailed

IE9 MobileOne of the major updates that the Mango will bring to Windows Phone 7 is Internet Explorer 9 Mobile. The long-awaited update to the browser on the operating system will finally bring features such as HTML5 over to Windows Phone. Since not everybody has access to Mango yet, and they might be curious to what IE9 Mobile is going to be like, the Windows Phone team decided to write a post about it.

IE9 Mobile will come with some changes ? like the address bar at the bottom instead of the top, HTML5 support, a faster JavaScript engine, and hardware support for faster and smoother web-based videos and animation. It features a cleaner UI with more screen real estate for displaying websites. However, it does come with a tradeoff: the tab and favorite buttons have been delegated to just being menu options, and the status bar on the top of the phone is now hidden from view.

Judging by the responses in the comments section, it doesn’t look like they’ve struck a right chord with WP users this time around, but I guess time will tell. Check out more screenshots over at the source link. And if you’ve used IE9 Mobile ? what are your thoughts about it?

T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2 almost here

T-Mobile InviteThe Samsung Galaxy S2 has been released on Sprint and announced for AT&T, which means that only T-Mobile’s variant of the Android phone is the only one that’s missing (Verizon won’t be carrying it). Well, for folks who’ve been waiting for the phone to arrive, the wait is almost over. Earlier last month when Samsung unveiled all three US versions of the Galaxy S2, T-Mobile didn’t give a release date for the phone, but it did mention that it will be holding a separate event for the phone.

Today, T-Mobile has been reported to have sent out invitations for an event next week, where the carrier is believed to be announcing the phone. The event will be on Monday, September 26th in San Francisco and it will be an evening of DJs, drinks and devices. No word on whether T-Mobile will be showing off any other phones or tablets, but the release date for its Galaxy S2 is expected to be revealed. Stay tuned and we’ll keep you posted.

Motorola Atrix 2 caught in the wild again

Motorola Atrix 2
A couple of days ago, the Motorola Atrix 2 was spotted in the wild, and now it looks like the phone has surfaced again. This time in the hands of the folks at This Is My Next, who got more than just a screenshot of the device ? they got to play around with the phone and even ran some benchmark tests on it too. The phone has been codenamed “Edison” and according to their first impression, “it looks and feels fantastic.” The phone packs more curves than the regular Motorola Android device and looks like it could be from HTC or Samsung.

Timeline Pulls Facebook Ahead

Earlier today, Facebook has announced its Timeline redesign of the user profile page. It’s a design unlike any other in Facebook’s history as it does not focus only on adding more functionality – and clutter. Its goal is to make things more readable, easier to navigate, while at the same time opening the door to more complex and engaging apps/widgets. Instead of describing feature, I will let you watch a video demo, then I will tell you why I think that this is not only a great design, but a great idea.

Is the Blackberry Dead

Remember what cell phones were like before iPhone and Android? Basically cell phone users fell into 2 categories?those who wanted the tiniest phone they could get their hands on (remember Nokia?) and more serious, adult users who went the way of the Blackberry.
