If you own a PS Vita and hope to see a different type of game hit the market compared to the standard releases, then you might be interested in checking out PulzAR. This is one title that might just captivate a new group of gamers, thanks to the implementation of Augmented Reality (AR) gameplay. PulzAR is a puzzler that will certainly tax those gray cells up there in your noggin’, where it is capable of transforming just about any flat surface into an epic battle arena against time, as well as a looming celestial event by making clever use of your AR Play cards. Conventional wisdom says that lightning rods are placed on buildings in order to attract lightning during a storm, but how about looking at things from a different perspective? Lightning Suppression Systems’ PDCE lightning rods will do the opposite instead – being placed right up there on top of buildings in order to prevent lightning strikes. How does it work? Well, standard lightning rods function by collecting the ground charge, discharging between the ground and the thundercloud. As for the PDCE lightning rods, those will prevent the ground charge from coming up to meet the lightning, hence preventing the lightning from striking within the area around the device. I guess Storm of the X-Men has no part in this. (more…)

Modern Warfare 3 Collection 2 has just been deployed, where it will be accompanied by a trio of Multiplayer/Survival Mode Maps, a couple of Special Ops Missions, not to mention introducing two all-new “Face Off” maps. With more maps being thrown into the mix this time around, it would take some time for you to adapt to them and finding out all the hot zones as well as kill box areas. Those who want their piece of action to come in hot and heavy will definitely love what the latest collection of maps for Modern Warfare 3 has in store, ranging from spending their time in the towering sandstone monasteries of Central Greece to the decommissioned concrete factory in South Korea, amongst others. You will need to have the original Modern Warfare 3 game of course, before you are able to give these maps a go. At least from all the downtime that Diablo 3 is giving you, you can always take a break with a server that will not shut you out.

While we all know that a smartphone has plenty of processing firepower to put desktop computers from 15 or more years ago to shame, there is also the question of expanding the functionality of your smartphone. What happens when you want to print out a particular page, recipe, document or email from the handset’s internal memory? This is where the Star Micronics SM-T300 mobile printer comes in handy, where it can print from a variety of platforms, including an iPad, an iPhone or an Android-powered device. The SM-T300 will feature a rubber-type case which is capable of fending off shocks from drops as high as 1.5 meters. Not only that, you need not worry about getting it wet, since it is waterproof and dustproof as well, conforming to the IP54 international standard. The internal battery of the Star Micronics SM-T300 mobile printer is said to last up to 11 hours, and it can communicate via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity. No idea on pricing though.

When you have a spanking new invention, there is one thing that you definitely need to make sure you do – file a patent for it. After all, you can never quite tell just when your invention is going to be lusted after by millions of people worldwide, turning you in to a famous personality overnight. The Project Glass from Google is one bright spark of an idea, where it has just received another four patents. Google is now the proud owner of the rights for the Project Glass’ design of the right half of the device, allowing the camera to ‘float’ right there over the eye while the rest of its insides remain concealed within the band. Not only that, Google has also patented the nose-pad sensor which will be able to detect when it is worn, in addition to the ability to represent ambient sounds on the display alongside range and direction info. Last but not least, the Project Glass also received the patent for the ability to use each eyepiece as a separate display. Can’t wait for the real deal? Neither can we.
