There is nothing quite like a splash of color to brighten up the day - and the Keyless LifeBook concept that you see here ought to make your day if you’re feeling particularly down when the work week starts. An entry in the 2011 Fujitsu Design Award competition, it will bring personal configuration to a whole new level, sporting a full touchscreen keyboard on a full-size laptop that will enable you to pick, arrange and configure your very own layout choices.
Designed by Laura Lahti, her Keyless LifeBook concept remains to be seen whether it will continue being a conceptual idea, or will it actually end up as a working prototype sometime down the road – with hope that it will actually make the jump to a commercially available machine. One ought to keep their fingers crossed that vibration key feedback might even be thrown into the final edition.

Add to myYahoo! The Japanese may be renowned for miniaturisation, but they prefer their robots and TVs larger than life. Sharp‘s 85″ LCD TV is humongous not only by the virtue of its physical size, but also in terms of pixel count. Developed in collaboration with Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK), the LCD panel sports pixel dimensions of 7,680 x 4,320 pixels and an impressive 10-bit colour depth at a 60 Hz refresh rate. It conforms to Super Hi-Vision – a next-generation broadcast TV Read Full Article

Add to myYahoo! It's a predictable progression: NVIDIA or AMD release a new GPU, along with a reference design video card built around it. All of the marketing partners introduce new video cards that are the reference design card with a vendor label or graphic affixed to it. And while some vendors leave it at that, others aim for the enthusiast market by designing their own video cards around the new GPUs, adding their own features and capabilities. PowerColor is one of the latter, and they have several variants of the AMD Radeon HD6950 video card ranging from plain reference designs to, well, this one: the PowerColor PCS+ Radeon HD6950 Vortex II Edition. It's a mouthful of a product name, to be sure, and Benchmark Reviews puts it to the test in this review.

Add to myYahoo!Sometimes you choose a phone rather than a carrier — you want the best possible phone for your needs, and are willing to sign a contract with whichever one has the perfect device for you. That’s why we’re comparing 4G phones offered by two different carriers. In one corner we have the HTC EVO 4G from Sprint, which was the first 4G phone to be available to the general public. In the other corner we have the HTC ThunderBolt, Read Full Article

It’ll be awhile before Nokia gets rid of the Ovi name, but until then it looks like it is still providing updates for its Ovi programs. The Ovi Store has recently got an update with a major new feature ? the ability to update the apps within the store itself. Following in the footsteps of the Apple App Store and the Android Market, this new feature will make it easier for Symbian users to keep their apps updated. No more hunting around for updates ? see what apps you have in the “My Account” section and Ovi Store will inform you about the ones that need updating. Users can download the updates one by one or download them all at the same time.
Other improvements to the Ovi Store include a tweaked Top Free and Best Sellers list, Related Items on the Ovi Store website, and Arabic Localization for folks who have set Arabic as their device language. Head over to the official Ovi website for more details about the latest Ovi Store update.

A couple of days ago, we reported that Nokia’s upcoming Windows Phone 7 devices would be making use of ST-Ericsson chips. It seems that they were referring to their second (or later) generation of WP7 phones ? on Friday, a Nokia spokesperson confirmed with Reuters: ?The first Nokias based on Windows Phone will have the Qualcomm chipset.? So this means that Microsoft hasn’t been pushing for dual-core processors to run WP7 yet, and Qualcomm is still the exclusive SoC manufacturer for WP7.
Still no confirmation on when we’ll see the first Nokia WP7 phone, but we’re pretty excited about its arrival. Hopefully this partnership will pull Nokia out of its current slump. Who’s waiting for a Nokia WP7 phone?

Bookeen, a company that’s been known for making HD videos play on E-Ink screens has recently unveiled a new trick that it’s managed to pull off: real-time web browsing and scrolling. They recently released a video clip showing off the feature and it looks pretty sweet. What’s impressive about it is that it can be done on hardware that’s already available on the market ? it’s just customized software.
No word on when we’ll start seeing this feature in our eReader devices, but we can’t wait ’til it does. Hit the break to watch a video clip demonstration of the scrolling and browsing, and a previously released video of HD video playback on an E-Ink screen (also by Bookeen):

We all know that the RadioShack already has the HTC EVO 3D up for pre-order, but for those of you who don’t have one a RadioShack just around the corner or just prefer to buy from the official Sprint store ? good news. The HTC EVO 3D can now be pre-ordered from Sprint according to the folks from Engadget. All you have to do is visit a Sprint-owned retail outlet, purchase a $50 gift-card and you’ll be on the list with the phone reserved to your name.
Still no word on pricing or availability for this 4G, 3D Android smartphone from HTC, but I doubt we’ll have to wait much longer to finally find out. How many of you will be picking up one of these babies when it arrives on our shores?
