If you’re conscious about the environment, then you’ll certainly want to pick an eco-friendly phone, and the freshly-announced LG Remarq might be just what you were looking for. The phone has been confirmed to be offered by Sprint, and is 87 percent made from recyclable materials and 19 percent made from recycled plastic. LG and Sprint claim that this phone sports low levels of bromides and PV plastics in the phones construction, not to mention a fully recyclable box. The Remarq actually looks a lot like the Samsung Reclaim, which can be seen as the Remarq’s direct competitor. Despite its low-end status, the LG Remarq still manages to pack in a 1.3-megapixel camera, microSDHC card expansion and Bluetooth support. The phone will be offered free for folks who agree to a two-year plan, after a $20 mail-in rebate. The LG Remarq should be shipping on May 9th.

As we mentioned in an earlier post, Toshiba has officially announced its UX600 LED TV, which sports Wi-Fi, and VUDU. VUDU Movies offers 1080p HD video, 5.1 surround sound, as well as access to over 3,000 HD movies on demand. This TV also allows you to keep in touch with your social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter, as well as photo/video sites such as YouTube, Flickr and Picasa. Considering that it can access Flickr and Picasa, it’s certainly worth mentioning that the UX600 has a photo frame feature, allowing you to turn your TV into one giant photo frame, which should be a great conversation starter. As mentioned, the Wi-Fi adapter makes all these social networking integration possible. The Toshiba UX600 LED TV will be available in 40”, 46” and 55” inch sizes, and will be retailing from $1,399.99 to $2,499.99.

Real problems, too, not silly things like making sure Simon Cowell stays on for another season of American Idol. We’re talking poverty, having access [...]
