Microsoft shows off Xbox 360 and Windows Phone
interaction

KinectimalsWhen Microsoft announced that gaming would be a big part of Windows Phone, people wondered about how Xbox Live on the mobile operating system would interact with their Xbox 360 consoles. Well, today at GameFest, the company gave a demonstration about how they would go about bridging the two platforms with its upcoming game for kids ? Kinectimals.

Through the use of QR codes, gamers could transfer their animals between the Xbox 360 and Windows Phone. If a user would like to bring their pet along with them when they go out ? they can just scan the QR code with the Kinectimals app, which will then generate the very same animal on the phone so they’ll always have it with them on the go. While on the phone, players can even add the pets to photographs they take, which sounds like pretty good fun.

This Game Boy swim suit will turn heads

Game Boy swim suitSome people might think that that one-piece swim suits are out of fashion, and possibly the least attractive-looking beach/pool attire available right now, but here’s one that we’re sure is guaranteed to turn heads. Created by Black Milk (which hit gold recently with its Star Wars-inspired droid swim suits), this Game Boy-inspired swim suit was designed to push the right buttons to unlock the geek found inside every guy out there. Who would’ve thought that something so nerdy could be turned into something this sexy?

The swim suit isn’t listed on the company’s official website at the moment, but it is up on its Facebook gallery, so keep your eyes peeled if you’re interested in purchasing it. It should cost around $90, judging by the prices of the other suits available on its website.

Cooler Master GeminII S524 CPU Heatsink

I've said before that since the coolers included with retail CPUs are both quiet and effective at stock clock speeds, overclocking is the only reason anyone should buy a third party CPU cooler. Well, this isn't strictly true: not all third party CPU coolers are designed to handle ultra-high overclocks in massive tower systems; sometimes, what you need is a cooler that is more effective than the retail cooler in specific situations, such as the tight confines of a micro-ATX or HTPC case. When airflow's at a premium, a properly designed cooler that can fit into a tight space can be a big help. Benchmark Reviews looks at Cooler Master's new GeminII S524 cooler, which is designed for just such applications.

Nokia launches countdown to something new on
Symbian

Symbian countdownCan’t wait until the latest version of Symbian hits your Nokia smartphone? Or looking forward to the introduction of new handsets that run on Symbian Belle? It looks like you won’t have to wait in the dark anymore. Nokia has updated its official Facebook page with a very nice looking countdown and the message “It’s almost time to try something new? something new on Symbian”. With the leaked version of the update already in the wild, there’s a chance that this will be the countdown to the official release of the update or the release of some new Symbian Belle-powered handsets.

But since the company is being tight-lipped about the whole issue, we’ll just have to wait to find out. Good thing it’s not going to be a very long wait. Any Symbian/Nokia fans out there anticipating the release of Belle? Check out the official Nokia Facebook page.

Now that I’m “back in the game” so to speak, I’ve spent the past few months creating a few tools to help me find industry relevant content.  A few of my peers have asked to take a glance “at my tools”, which I found shocking at first, but soon realized what they were talking about. [...]
