Netflix to add more TV content

After the splitting up its DVD and streaming business earlier this week, it looks like Netflix is ready to take its streaming service into a different direction. Instead of focusing on offering feature-length films, Netflix is going to bring more TV content to its video on demand service. And seeing how Netflix lost one of its partners, Starz, recently ? it needed to bring in more content to make up for the void in its service.

Diablo 3 plays well with a gamepad

Hardcore fans of Diablo might scoff at the idea of playing their all-time favorite action RPG with anything other than the mouse and keyboard, but it looks like Blizzard seems to think otherwise. PC Gamer recently had a chat with Diablo 3′s game director, Jay Wilson, and it turns out that they’ve actually been doing some testing with the game using an Xbox 360 controller. And according to him, the game seems to feel better. Here’s what he had to say:

“One of the reasons why we’re exploring the idea of a console version of Diablo 3 because we feel that the controls and the style of the game lend itself to a console. With some of our early experiments in putting a direct control scheme into the game via a 360-like analogue controller, I’ve been ‘Oh this feels even better, with direct control?’”

While that may be the case ? you don’t have to worry about Blizzard getting rid of the mouse and keyboard setup. Just that if the time comes and they ever port Diablo 3 over to the console, or make gamepad controls available on the PC, it’s not going to play terribly. What are your thoughts on playing Diablo 3 with a gamepad instead of a mouse and keyboard?

The folks over at iHelicopters.net have announced the launch of its iPhone Controlled Wall Climbing Car iW500. Using the opposite principle of the hovercraft, the iW500 creates a sealed vacuum between itself and the surface it’s on, which allows it to move along virtually any smooth surface ? even the underside of a table or the ceiling of a house.

Sprint Mobile Hotspot add-on plan
Sprint’s been increasing its prices a lot recently ? first it was the early termination fee, then it was the upgrade fee and now it looks like they’re about to deliver another blow to its customers. The folks over at SprintFeed managed to get their hands on an internal document detailing the changes to its Mobile Hotspot Add-On plan. According to the document, folks who use their phones as mobile hotspots will be given a 5GB limit for internet sharing purposes.

It’s been awhile since we’ve heard anything about the HTC Ruby, and it looks like the Android phone might be close to an official unveiling. Pocketnow has yet again managed to get their hands on the press shot of the phone, giving us a clearer look at the phone. Destined to arrive on T-Mobile’s network, the HTC Ruby packs some pretty good specs that will no doubt pique the interest of anyone looking for a powerful Android device.

It packs a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, a 4.3″ qHD display, 1GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel camera (HD-video capable), a 2-megapixel front facing camera, NFC capabilities and HSPA+ connectivity. No official word on pricing or a release date, but the phone is expected to arrive on October 26^th2011. Anybody thinking of picking up this phone when it goes on sale next month?

Gmail for mobile now supports multiple sign-ins

Great news for those of you with multiple Gmail accounts and find it such a hassle to keep up to date on all your mail with your mobile phone. Google has announced that Gmail for mobile now has multiple sign-in support. No more logging in, logging out, and logging in again just to check your mail in your secondary email account ? Gmail will let you sign into multiple accounts simultaneously.

In addition to multiple sign-in support, Google also introduced some new features to Gmail for mobile: users now have the ability to create a mobile signature to let people know that they’re responding from a mobile phone (in the event an email is full of typos). Users can also now set their Vacation auto-responder from their mobile phones just in case they only realize that they’ve forgotten about it while on the way to the airport.

To make use of all these features, just head over to the Gmail for mobile website. Make sure you update your bookmarks as well, because Google has updated the URLs.
