Battlefield 3 update to be released today

Remember we mentioned last week that Battlefield 3 would be receiving a significant update this week? Well, the update will be pushed out to all Battlefield 3 gamers on the PC today. It will be for both clients and servers, so expect some downtime when it is released at 11PM PST today, November 21st. As previously mentioned, console owners will have to wait awhile for the update.

Samsung Series 7 Tablet Gets Mac OS X Lion Port

Samsung Series 7 running Lion Unholy unions seem to be the most interesting combinations ? i.e. Android and Flash running on an iPhone, which we’ve covered before in the past. Well, a developer has decided to go the distance with his latest creation ? by installing Mac OS X Lion on his Samsung Series 7 tablet. Considering the situation the two companies are in at the moment (trying to get each other’s products banned in different countries), it’s interesting to note that Mac OS X Lion can run on it without too many problems.

According to reports, Lion runs relatively smoothly, but at the moment it requires an external monitor to view anything though hopefully it won’t be a problem in the future. But other than the display, it looks like Lion runs pretty well on the tablet. With specs pretty close to the MacBook Air, it doesn’t sound like a bad idea ? so if you’ve got a Series 7 and a spare monitor lying around the house, head over to the tonymacx86 forums for instructions.

Mimo Monitors has announced the launch of its Mimo Magic Touch: a 10″ monitor that features capacitive touch capabilities. It is designed for point-of-sale (POS) input and entry purposes, corporate video conferencing, smart home entertainment systems, industrial/manufacturing controls, as well as applications in healthcare, hospitality, retail, education, sound/video editing and other industries that can benefit from the use of a touchscreen. Its capacitive touch capabilities is a nice improvement over resistive touch displays that are normally used in such industries.

In addition to being a touch display, the Mimo Magic Touch can also function as a tethered tablet, in the event you want to walk around short distances i.e. during a presentation. The display is less than an inch think and weighs under 1lb, and has a resolution of 1024 x 600. It plugs into your computer via USB, and is compatible with Windows and Mac OS.
