Logitech has released its V450 Nano cordless laser mouse that is meant for notebook users, but then again I won't stop you if you prefer something smaller on your desktop. Features include Logitech’s exclusive Plug-and-Forget Nano-receiver, featuring a USB receiver that is so small, you can even forget about it once it is plugged in, letting the mouse always be ready for use. The battery inside the V450 Nano is touted to last for an entire year before a replacement is required, but that figure clearly depends on just how long you intend to use the mouse for each day. It operates on 2.4GHz wireless technology and will hit the US later this month, with Europe receiving the V450 Nano only in July. Logitech is asking $49.99 for this puppy.

Word has it that in 2009, all MacBooks shipped will come with an LED-backlit display. While this news has yet to receive confirmation, it does add up when you consider the fact that currently, Apple is already including LEDs in its MacBook Pro and MacBook Air lines. After all, LEDs are an eco-friendly solution for display production, offering superior brightness, color and battery life to standard LCD displays. Well, one and a half years ain't too far away considering how fast time passes by these days.

Acer jumps into the hardcore gaming arena with its Aspire Predator gaming rig that features a mean looking design that will definitely invoke the feeling as though they were trying to emulate the Alienware brand, complete with the necessary curves and grills. The front portion of the chassis can be raised to reveal a rewritable DVD and Blu-ray optical drive, while USB and audio ports mounted on top are accompanied by a multi-memory card reader. The Acer Aspire Predator guards against disk failure with NVIDIA MediaShield Storage technology and RAID 0, 1, 5, 1+0 modes. It will be powered by the highly overclockable Intel Core 2 Extreme quad-core processor with 1333MHz FSB, with the ability to cater for 3-way SLI on its motherboard. Other features include an advanced liquid cooling system, a multimedia keyboard with illuminated keys, a gaming mouse and EAX 4.0 support for the best gaming audio experience.

I personally don't think that electronic papers will replace traditional papers anytime soon, but it cannot be denied that the print industry and old media are currently going through tough times with competition on the electronic front. Advances like this 13.4" electronic paper from Epson certainly doesn't help traditional print medias' cause either, featuring the following :-

Twitter isn't just a microblogging tool that has gained quite a cult following, but it is also able to be hacked in order to control virtually any electrical device in your home simply by sending text messages to your Twitter account. Setup isn't too difficult, but you will need to know how to use this software that is in charge of all the controls. Who knew that Twitter could do this when it was released?

A recent survey showed that nearly 75% of passengers agreed that cell phone usage on airplanes ought to be restricted to silent features only, but I say take the pro-active approach and purchase a pair of noise-cancellation headphones and make sure your iPod is fully charged before that long haul flight. Around 60% of consumers responded that they would want to use silent features such as text messaging, e-mail access and online gaming while in the air. There is an overwhelming consensus in respondents of all ages that there should be a designated area for passengers to carry out their conversations so that the general peace would not be disturbed. As for me, the Internet is all I need, so I would loathe to see an "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" message while on board.

Rogers look hell bent on releasing the HTC Shift in Canada, and it will surely cost you a handsome $2,099.99 as a standalone device, with a slight reduction in price should you choose a month-to-month agreement, as well as a one- to three-year agreement. Some of the features on this delicious (but expensive) UMPC include :-

Sony takes after Nintendo's footsteps by unveiling a new color for their PSP that is doing pretty well these days. This time round, you will be able to pick up a metallic blue edition, but it isn't available as a standalone product when it arrives on store shelves this August 12th. Instead, it will retail for $200 and is accompanied by Madden 09, "NFL: In Just One Play" on UMD, a 1GB Memory Stick, and a downloadable PSP game known as Beats. Do you think the extra dough you fork out is worth it? I suppose only if you're a sports game fan, but otherwise it would be better to score a second hand model via eBay.
