Stone Out wit Klipsch AWR-650-SM

Stone Out wit Klipsch AWR-650-SM

Klipsch certainly knows how to rock on (no pun intended) with the AWR-650-SM outdoor speaker. Shaped to look like a huge rock in order to blend in with the rest of your garden, you get a 6.5" dual-voice woofer packed into a weather-resistant package that holds up well against UV rays as well. In addition to sandstone texture, you can also choose from granite and red rock finishes. Other features include :-

Geotagger Concept Device

Geotagger Concept Device

Japanese designer Takumi Yoshida is definitely forward looking as he thinks that the future of social networks will lie in a concept device known as the Geotagger. This device enables real-time tagging of locations on a futuristic looking iPod instead of taking on the more common GPS form factor. Described as "physical social bookmarking on-the-go", the Geotagger will probably roll out of manufacturing lines assuming the current social networking meme is able to pull through the next few years with greater momentum forward.

Solar Energy Purse

Solar Energy Purse

Go green the next time you are out shopping with your girlfriends, thanks to designer Ennio Capasa's Solar Energy Purse which is a female version of those solar backpacks we have come to know and love. The built-in solar panel features a bunch of plugs inside as well as a battery just in case the day is rainy and there isn't any chance of the horrid weather giving you a break. The design isn't exactly trendy and modern, but then again fashion taste is an extremely subjective matter.

Sony HT-IS100 Home Theater System

Sony HT-IS100 Home Theater System

Sony's new HT-IS100 home theater system will come accompanied by five golf ball-sized speakers, but apparently speakers this size has been around for a fair bit of time already so there really isn't much new to see over here. What we have though, is the 5.1-channels it offers along with a three HDMI input system for high definition buffs. The Sony HT-IS100 will be released on July 15th in japan, retailing for $870 for the entire set. I suppose being that small in size, it would be easy to set up a discreet home theater system right smack in the middle of the living room.

iPhone Insurance Blooper

iPhone Insurance Blooper

Guess there won't be an iPhone insurance from AT after all, considering there is a fair bit of fine print for one to go through before the deal becomes legit. This plan will be open to all customers who will be picking up a device or those who made a purchase no more than 30 days ago. Other than the $5 monthly fee, you will hav to fork out another $50 for majority of AT&T handsets on offer, while expensive smartphones and PDAs will cost an additional $125. Forget about the iPhone being covered though, since these are made out of adamantium.

Lusso Turntable Costs a Bomb

Lusso Turntable Costs a Bomb

If you happen to have a virtually bottomless bank account, then the Lusso turntable is definitely a candidate that will scream for your money. With prices starting from $47,000 upwards, this turntable features a combination of black circular rings with silverish aluminum backdrop that will definitely bring an added touch of elegance to any room. Germans are extremely precise people, so it is no surprise that one can expect audio perfection from the Lusso turntable (especially after forking out such a huge amount for it!), featuring three height adjustable connected cones made from alternate layers of aluminum and black acrylic. As for the central inverted cone, it is there to support the aluminum and acrylic platter.

Enermax Aeolus Cooling Pad

Enermax Aeolus Cooling Pad

Enermax has just delivered one of the wackiest cooling pads ever to grace the market in the form of the Aeolus. While it features just a single fan, that is a monstrous 8.66" diameter fan that is more than able to reduce the current temperature by up to 22 degrees Celsius without waking up the dead at 20dB noise output. Just to confirm your geek status, the Aeolus comes with built-in blue LEDs that light up. Well, unless you run a high-end gaming laptop, there really isn't any need for an overkill cooling pad like the $70 Enermax Aeolus.

ATI Radeon 4000 Series uses GDDR5

ATI Radeon 4000 Series uses GDDR5

AMD ATI Radeon's 4000 series of graphical processing units will run with Graphics Double Data Rate 5 (GDDR5) memory, making this the first commercial implementation of the technology. I guess ATI is dead serious in reclaiming the performance crown from nVidia after losing it a fair number of years back, having to play catch up since then. Needless to say, the higher data rates supported by GDDR5 will allow more bandwidth over a narrower memory interface that utimately translates to superior frame rates for the gamer. Well, it remains to be seen how much these new video cards will cost, but cheap isn't the word ATI is looking for.

Emtec gdium EM-PC Mini Laptop

Emtec gdium EM-PC Mini Laptop

Emtec's gdium EM-PC mini laptop might be touted to be an Asus Eee PC competitor, but it surely has its own merits by not following the Eee PC's design, and has a much larger display (8.9" 1,024 x 600 resolution) that will be easier on your eyes in the long run. Other features include flash-based storage (unknown capacity) and a webcam, all powered by a Linux-based OS. It will arrive in Australia this July, retailing for approximately AUD$449 (that's $420 in greenbacks). Choices, choices - can't live with them, can't live without them.

Rumor of Canon EOS-1000D

Rumor of Canon EOS-1000D

Word on the street has it that Canon is currently working hard on developing the EOS-1000D in order to go up against Nikon's low-end D40 line. Apparently this new model will function as the introductory factor for folks who want to venture into the world of DSLRs for the first time. Some of the touted features include a 10.1-megapixel CMOS sensor and a DIGIC III image processor. You will get limitations such as a seven-point autofocus, a 3fps shooting speed, and a 2.5" LCD display. There are no whispers of pricing nor a release date, so if you want to pick up photography seriously in the mean time, there is always the Nikon D40 range.
