If there was a popularity contest, then surely the Apple iPhone would have picked up a fair number of accolades to date, including being the most popular camera used to capture images that are then uploaded onto the popular photo sharing site, Flickr. The iPhone 4′s 5-megapixel shooter has passed the Nikon D90 at long last as the top camera, which took a year since it debuted in June 2010. This means under the iPhone 4 would be the mainstay D90, the Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi and the EOS Rebel T1i.
In another piece of news, it is not surprising to see the iPhone 4 dominating the cameraphone category as well, where its closest competitor is yet another Apple device – the iPhone 3G, lying in a distant second. Surely the question will arise – are there any non-Apple products at all in the top five cameraphones category? The answer is yes, the Android-powered HTC Evo 4G that is right at the very bottom alongside the iPod touch.

What’s so special about the PURE Sirocco 550 hi-fi system? How about having it being connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi so that you can enjoy your favorite online radio stations? Oh yeah, just in case you prefer the shock jocks of old, there is always the good old FM standby, and a CD player thrown into the mix for those nostalgic moments when CDs were the “in” thing, and MP3s are still some way off in the future. Most importantly, the inclusion of an iPod/iPhone dock makes it ideal to keep up with the times, since nearly everyone and their dog has one of those.

You know what they say – when it rains, it pours. It seems to be getting crowded up there as more and more companies start to work on delivering their cloud service, where you have Amazon’s Cloud Player, Google Music, and Apple’s iCloud – and now, Best Buy intends to join the fray with their Music Cloud service. Just how many ways can you name such a service with the word “Cloud” in it? Now that would be a fun exercise to play around with so that other companies who are about to jump on the bandwagon would hurry up so that they won’t be left with the cornier names to choose from.

Rumors surrounding Apple are always hot ticket items, and it seems that the latest one floating around would be Apple working on an iOS-powered connected TV, where it could even roll out as early as this fall. According to an anonymous former Apple executive (but of course, you don’t really expect him/her to step forward and fall under the watchful eye of Cupertino, do you?), Apple intends to “blow Netflix and all those other guys away” through the bundling of Apple TV and iTunes within a physical display. DailyTech reports that to achieve this,Apple is teaming up with a major supplier so that rebranded HDTV sets can reach the masses.

Apple has upgraded their AirPort Extreme base station without any fanfare at all – then again, purists would say that this isn’t worthy to be considered as an upgrade, apart from apple being coy concerning the revealing of any major tweaks. Similar to the previous model, the updated AirPort Extreme will pave the way for up to 50 simultaneous users who are able to access dual-band Wi-Fi networking. No notable specifications were modified in any way, and Apple still calls the AirPort Extreme as ?new.? Perhaps the device saw some changes underneath the hood which we are not aware of, and having tweaked it to deliver better performance than before – without revealing so to the masses.

Add to myYahoo! It might not seem like SSDs have been around very long, but OCZ has been a pioneer in the technology for almost four years already. They've traditionally offered several different options for performance enthusiasts, from economic yet responsive storage to premium high-speed enthusiast solid state drive solutions. While their Vertex series deliver the fastest SSD's available, the more affordable Agility family accommodates cost-conscious builders and comes available in 60-240GB capacities. In this article, Benchmark Reviews tests the OCZ Agility 3 SSD, model AGT3-25SAT3, which is based on the SandForce SF-2281 SATA 6GB/s controller and IMFT-branded async-NAND flash components.

Fans of LEGO and MMO games will be pleased to know that come July ? they won’t ever have to leave their rooms ever again. The LEGO Group has just announced that it will be releasing a Free-to-Play version of its MMOG for users who would like to try out the game without paying for it first. The Free-to-Play option will limit users to a zone for an unlimited amount of time, where they can figure out and understand the basics of the game and enjoy it before deciding if they’re going to be premium subscribers or not.
LEGO Universe is an MMOG set in the LEGO Universe, letting users battle, adventure, and socialize ? just like any other MMOG. Judging by the trailers, it looks like it will feature gameplay similar to the offline LEGO games they’ve released in the past, except this time it’s not tied to any blockbuster franchise but stands in its own world. Users will also get the opportunity to build their own structures with an unlimited number of bricks, which should be fun for people who would rather just build buildings instead of going on quests to battle.
LEGO Universe Free-to-Play will begin this August 2011. Find out more at the official LEGO Universe website.

We all know that Apple will be eschewing physical media for the upcoming update of its operating system (and all other apps as well) ? a move that has both bad and good points. This means that Apple doesn’t have to waste money on physical packaging and getting CDs duplicated, software can be released globally at the same time easily and it’s good for the environment.
Unfortunately, it does have some drawbacks as well. Not everybody has a high speed internet connection at home, and if they do, it might have a monthly cap, and some people might have both bad connections and a data cap. 4 gigs of data to download could take days or even weeks for some people, and others, it would be a huge chunk of their data cap, and sadly for some ? it will be both.
