iPod Shuffle receives waterproof treatment

iPod Shuffle receives waterproof treatment
H2O Audio has introduced a Waterproof Housing for the iPod Shuffle, showing us that the company does not only target the iPod's more expensive brethren when it comes to accessories. This $39.99 H2O Audio case is made from frosted clear hard rubber that gives it a blur, glassy look. A hard plastic insert holds the Shuffle in place and is able to seal the enclosure against water up to a depth of 10 feet. Needless to say, the insert is extremely hard to remove as it requires both the mini-lanyard and some finger pressure to work in tandem with each other. Just remember to turn on the Shuffle before you place it inside.

Buffalo BHB-U207 USB tentacle hub

Buffalo BHB-U207 USB tentacle hub
Buffalo of Japan has unveiled yet another squid USB hub that provides adequate space in between each other in order to avoid the waste of a single USB port. Granted, all the long, sinewy tentacles are reminiscent of Davey Jones' beard in Pirates of the Carribean 2, and they could look rather messy when in use. Needless to say, the Buffalo BHB-U207 USB tentacle hub is not powered so you can only connect lightweight devices that do not consume a whole lot of power lest your USB port is overpowered. It is available in two versions - the four-port model costs $21 while the two-port version will retail for $17.

Trek DVB-T digital TV tuner

Trek DVB-T digital TV tunerTrek brings you a DVB-T digital TV tuner that comes in a USB flash drive form factor. This looks like an unbalanced marriage at the first glance, but Trek's idea is to include the installation CD into the flash drive itself. Since this is a DVB-T device, only our friends across the Atlantic would be interested as those staying state side won't be able to receive nuts. Another point going for this offering from Trek is the ability to save a MPEG 2 stream into the flash drive directly. The swivel antenna looks rather filmsy unfortunately. A MPEG 4 high definition version is expected to be released in September. More specs after the jump. • Portable storage device comes with DVB-T receiving function
• Supports USB 2.0
• Bus powered with no external power supply
• Mass Storage class compliant
• DVB-T Protocol (ETS 300 744) compliant
• Records and playback DVD quality DTV programs
• PReal-time and scheduling recording into MPEG2 format
• Snapshot for still image captures
• Auto and manual channel scan support (6/7/8 MHz)

Nikon website features new DSLR teaser

Nikon website features new DSLR teaser

Like most good romances go, there is always the excitement and mystery of flirting, letting the other party see enough to want more and yet remaining off limits until the proper time. Nikon Japan is doing the very same thing by launching a teaser campaign to promote its new compact 10.2 megapixel digital SLR. Speculations are rife that this upcoming model will usurp the D70's place. The only thing we know is an official announcement will be coming within the next three weeks and 10.2 megapixels ought to be enough distract you from getting the Sony Alpha at the moment.
