Xbox 360 Controller To Get Redesign

If it ain't broke, don't fix it - or so that's how the adage goes. While I don't think the Xbox 360's controller is broken in any way, that doesn't mean Microsoft won't come up with a refresh where design is concerned. The Redmond, Washington company has unveiled a redesigned controller at Leipzig which comes with a new-feel D-pad despite looking aesthetically identical to its predecessor. The new and improved D-pad is said to offer more instant control, so it will be interesting to see how gamers adapt to their favorite games on the Xbox 360 with this new controller. There is no official release date, although some people are targeting the same date as Pro Evolution Soccer's release.

The DS version of Guitar Hero: On Tour was pretty good, although it was missing the fifth fret due to space constraints while the add-on controller seemed to slip out all too easily during those frantic moments. Necessity being the mother of invention has led this modder to hack a wireless PS2 guitar to go with the DS version, allowing a full fake instrument jam session. Say goodbye to cramped fingers and awkward moments. Interestingly enough, this mod comes with an FM transmitter that allows you to stream audio via a home stereo instead of the tiny speakers found on the DS. One of the better mods to surface lately.

Check out this simple yet rugged speaker known as the Hive Audio System that was specially designed to be placed in an outdoor environment. The Hive Audio System will come with a sound tube that prevents the elements from harming its innards, while amplifying sound as it reverberates. The rugged base adds to the overall stability, and this wireless speaker can be linked to other similar units to form a "hive". One can only wonder when a design concept such as this from Christopher Stuart will be realized.
