App Store Is Now Accepting iPad Apps

App Store Is Now Accepting iPad Apps

With the iPad just around the corner, developers are going to be jumping for joy when they receive the email from Apple (which has been sent out) notifying them that they can now start submitting apps for the iPad App Store. The app will obviously be reviewed by Apple’s App Review Team, which is pretty much the same process for submitting your app for the iPhone. You’ll need to submit your app by March 27th in order to make it for the grand opening. Don’t forget that your app needs to be built using the iPhone SDK 3.2 Beta 5 in order to be accepted for the initial review. Do you have any apps lined up to be reviewed by the App Review Team already?

T-Mobile To Partner With Clearwire For WiMAX

T-Mobile To Partner With Clearwire For High Speed Data?

T-Mobile isn’t enjoying the time of its life at the moment, since it’s currently facing an uphill battle against Verizon Wireless and AT&T. In order to keep up, the carrier certainly needs to look into getting some high speed data on its network. With that in mind, reports indicate that the carrier is mulling the possibility of a joint venture with Clearwire for its WiMAX infrastructure. It’s certainly interesting to note that Sprint happens to control more than 50 percent of Clearwire, but it doesn’t seem that T-Mobile is considering a merger with Sprint. Do you think a WiMAX network would help improve your perception of T-Mobile?

Latest SDK Beta Shows The iPad's Support For
Hardware Dvorak Keyboards

Latest SDK Beta Shows The iPad's Support For Hardware Dvorak Keyboards

There’s some good news and bad news for Dvorak keyboard users out there. Dvorak is an alternative keyboard layout to the dominant QWERTY keyboard layout that’s being used by most people. In Apple’s latest iPhone SDK 3.2 Beta 5 you can find support for hardware Dvorak keyboards in the OS, which is certainly good news. The bad news is, that the support is for hardware keyboards, there isn’t any mention of the software keyboard, which in all honesty, should be a lot easier to implement. How many Bluetooth Dvorak keyboards do you see out in the market? Of course, you could always place stickers over a normal QWERTY keyboard, but it’s not the same, right?

Samsung To Begin Producing 3m Of The 13m iPad

Samsung To Begin Producing 3m Of The 13m iPad Screens Ordered

Reports indicate that Samsung will begin producing iPad screens, a good 3 million of them in fact. The Korean company has managed to get a contract with Apple apparently worth $240 million to supply said number of displays for the iPad. The display of the iPad is one of its most expensive parts, costing $80 for all models. LG already has a large multi-year display deal with Apple, and the company is already busy coming up with 10 million iPad displays for the fruity company, putting the total number of displays ordered by Apple at 13 million, which is a wholesome number of iPads, wouldn’t you say?

Vodafone Spain Admits That 3000 Smartphones Were

Vodafone Spain Admits That 3000 Smartphones Were Shipped With Virus

Looks like the recent issue of Vodafone’s HTC Magic shipping with the Conficker and Mariposa viruses might be more widespread than initially reported. Apparently Vodafone Spain has confirmed that some 3,000 users may have been exposed to the Mariposa malware, which made its way into users’ computers via the cell phone’s storage. Now the carrier is offering to replace the microSD cards for infected phones, while stressing that the incident is isolated and local. Getting a brand new phone shipped to you with a virus certainly isn’t pleasant, but if your computer was infected by the virus, chances are that just getting a new memory card isn’t going to solve the issue, is it?
