That's what it looks like anyway with this iPod Shuffle from Xexoo of Germany. Made from real 18 carat gold, this will definitely burn an extremely large hole in your pocket if you want one with its price tag of $19,343 (14,000 Euros). For those who aren't satisfied with just gold, there is a diamond upgrade in the works, so be prepared to cough up even more money then. This special iPod Shuffle even comes with its own round-the-clock service in case you run into any trouble with it, where a free replacement is waiting in the wings. Definitely ranks an item that most people want but cannot afford. Each purchase comes with a lovely looking wooden box that comes in a piano style.

If you're one of those who place primary importance on the color a device comes in (and there are plenty of you around considering how Dell has just released its new line of notebooks that come in a rainbow of colors), the Excelstor GStor Wave hard drive is right up your alley. Available in purple pink, blue, green, silver, or black colors, this is bound to brighten up any work area in the office. Other than the cheery range of colors, there really isn't much to shout about underneath the hood, with a standard USB 2.0 connection and a 4,200RPM hard drive. I suppose mosquitoes are somewhat like the Borg in Star Trek as well as the Phalanx in X-Men, as they tend to adapt to their surroundings much faster than any other lifeform around. Hence, Brando has the Mosquito Repeller at hand, complete with a frequency adjustment knob to keep those pesky bloodsucking creatures at bay. It emits ultrasonic sound which cannot be heard by humans and other animals, but proves irritating to mosquitoes in order to drive them away. Should they return after a while, change the frequency to throw them off balance yet again. It is powered by a couple of AG13 batteries and retails for $9 apiece.

USB devices have invaded virtually every aspect of the computing world, that it has become an essential port in any computer. The USB Superbooster Wall Plate boasts the capability of providing a USB port whenever there is no computer around, letting other USB-based devices like iPods, MP3 players, cellphones, and digital cameras remain charged up. Just as long as you have a network cable connected to this device, the USB Superbooster Wall Plate is good to go. It has a maximum range of 150 feet, so for those looking for something more practical will opt for wireless USB instead. After all, the sticker price of $129 for the USB Superbooster Wall Plate isn't exactly cheap to begin with.

Now this is what I call a compact portable multimedia player. It looks more like a vertically standing flashlight than anything else, but what looks like a bulb is actually the projector's lens. The rotating sections of the barrel lets the user control the device, presumably using a navigational menu system of some sort. What makes this interesting is the ability to project your content (ranging from interface, pictures, and movies) onto a wall instead of a display. Heck, you even get a matching pair of wireless earbuds and a speaker dock. Too bad it remains a concept by Can-Hong Huang at this point in time - are there any hardware manufacturers who have the technology to mass produce these for us consumers?

Coby is attempting to take a bite out of Apple's pie with the MP-c852 Clip MP3 player. This tiny device has the 2G iPod Shuffle in its sights, and also plays the color game by coming in blue, red, pink, silver, and black colors. The included clip makes it hang onto your clothes naturally, and just like the Shuffle, it is compatible with both PC and Macs (minus iTunes support, of course). In addition to MP3 playback, the Coby MP-c852 goes one up by playing WMA files as well. At $24.99 a pop, three of these can get you just a single iPod Shuffle. Definitely food for thought the next time you go out MP3 shopping.

Add to myYahoo!I love concept phones as they do not have the problem of trying to accomodate what the current laws of physics and science dictate. In fact, concepts help the designers go wild with their imagination, and it is exactly that which brought about beautiful looking creations we see today such as the Audi TT and even certain cellphones. NEC has given their engineers a chance to loosen up by creating some pretty zany concept cellphones that come in all sorts of shapes, color, and sizes. More pictures are available in the photo gallery.

Add to myYahoo! There's a rumour doing the rounds that a certain court action that Facebook are involved in may not go their way, and in fact, could lead to them having to shut down next week. Stop hyperventilating, and answer the poll as a distraction.
