Stacking Obelisk chairs

obeliskchairs.jpg

Janus et Cie have come up with a great space saver: when powdered coated aluminum frame Obelisk Chairs aren't in use, they can be stacked into the form of a tower which will look great on your hardwood floors. The down side is the price $8,922. For that price you could hire hobos to reshape the chairs you already own - or, if you don't mind the smell, to just let you sit on them and send them away when you don't need them. [GT]

Trying The Best Bluetooth Headsets

With the move to the Samsung SCH-u740 phone (still lovin that name!) I’m somewhat forced into the bluetooth headset world.  It’s sad, as I absolutely love my Shure headset - hey, I may look like a telemarketer with it on, but it’s super-comfortable, the sound quality is great, and the microphone works in a windstorm.  [...]

Elite EML 1: catwalk cool or simply square

squarephone.jpgLaunched in 1983 by John Casablancas, Elite Model Look is an international model search which claims to have 'a reputation as a glamorous and high-profile media event.' And for some reason, they've decided to try their hand at making mobiles. 'Top model' mobiles, if you please. Which means that, if you use the Elite EML 1, you too will be a size zero with long golden locks and come-to-bed eyes.

ARCO Mirror PC TV from Lapelle does what it says
on the tin

lcd-wall-mirror1_12.jpgThe ARCO mirror PC TV is a mirror, a PC and a TV, and there's not much more to say, except that by eliminating the tiresome trek from the lounge sofa to the computer workstation, ARCO is set to make us just that little bit fatter and lazier.

VIOlight Toothbrush Sanitizer

My girlfriend told me that toothbrushes harbor more germs than a toilet bowl. Yeeewwwww! That was enough to get me looking for a solution, and fortunately for my sanity, VIOlight has already come up with a solution. Their little...

Mozilla Thunderbird 2.0 is Go! Free email client
now available in updated format

tbird2.jpgI'm not one of those anti-Microsoft-monopoly types. I like it that all my programmes use the same shaped buttons and the same symbols to mean the same things. You get a Microsoft-instinct for how to do things you've never done before. But the nice thing about Mozilla's Thunderbird free email client is that, unlike my expectations of a non-Microsoft product, it looks vaguely familiar. The buttons, while not being quite the same, are similar enough that you can use your Microsoft-evolved brain to work out what to do easily enough. It's a bit like speaking British English in America - you get by perfectly well, and there's a lot more available.

Another Move

By David PonceYeah, looks like we’re moving around a lot. That’s because we are. The Dedicated Virtual server at Media Temple was a nice and fast, but a little tight. It didn’t scale and just getting on the front page of Digg would bring it to its knees. We decided to [...]
