Here’s another one of those no-batteries-needed accessories for what is probably our most treasured of gadgets nowadays – our smartphones. The FoneStand is a black (or white) plastic stand for your iPhone, Android or other smartphone or even some tablets that lets you view them in either portrait or landscape mode at an angle. The [...]

If you’ve got tons of photographs uploaded on your Google+ account and wish you had Facebook’s facial detection feature to make life easier when it comes to tagging photographs, you’re in luck. Google has started rolling out a new feature on Google+ which will make tagging people in your photo albums a breeze. Of course, the people you tag will be notified so they can choose to approve or deny the photo tags but hey ? at least it makes life much easier for you if you’re the one constantly tagging pictures of people.
One more reason to leave Facebook for Google+? Perhaps. The photo tagging update is being rolled out to Google+ users everywhere so it’s going to take awhile, be patient if you don?t have it yet. It looks like Google+ sure is growing quickly into a force to be reckoned with. How many of you use Google+ over Facebook now?

On Thursday, the folks over at DigiTimes reported that companies like ASUS, Acer and Dell were looking to retreat from the tablet business due to the OEMs struggling to make a dent in Apple’s share of the tablet market and the arrival of low cost tablets like the Kindle Fire and NOOK Tablet. Well, two of the companies decided to set the story straight by responding to those rumors. ASUS’ spokes man Gary Key was quoted as saying, “As usual, the rumors and reports from Digitimes are incorrect. Asus is not exiting the Android tablet business.” Let’s not forget that the company has the Transformer Prime tablet slated for December, so it seemed like a pretty odd rumor in the first place.
A Dell spokesman also said that the company didn’t have any plans to exit the business either, while an Acer representative wasn’t available for comment. So for those of you who were worried about your favorite company exiting the tablet business, fret not. However it is noted that the manufacturers could be scaling back on resources for Android tablets to focus on Windows 8 tablets instead. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

EA/DICE have just announced on the official Battlefield blog that they will be pushing out a significant update for Battlefield 3. This isn’t some minor tweak or fix but will implement a host of changes such as weapons balancing, improved squad control functionality, stability, user interface enhancements, some feature enhancements based on feedback from the community, and the removal of “negative mouse acceleration” that some people have been experiencing.
The patch will be released in the coming week for the PC, with the console version to follow after that. In case you didn’t know, console patches take a bit longer due to the certification requirements for console content, but hold on tight, it’ll be arriving in due time.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is already available to our friends in the UK, but somehow on this side of the world nobody seems to have any clue to when we can get our hands on the device. Well, more rumors about the phone’s release date have surfaced and this time we’re looking at a December 8th launch. According to a couple of photographs showing Verizon internal documents, we’ll be seeing the highly-anticipated Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich phone go on sale on the last month of the year.
If the phone does go on sale on December 8th it looks like it’ll be skipping any potential Black Friday sales though it will still be in time to be stocking stuffers for Christmas. Though with no other Android phone up to its caliber (at least according to reviews about the phone posted so far) it doesn’t seem to have much competition to worry about anyway, so the phone’s late release date shouldn’t really hurt it. What do you think? Stay tuned for our review of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus in the future.

The Motorola DROID Xyboard tablets were leaked earlier this week, and now a new picture of the tablet has surfaced. This time we get to see the back of the device and if you look carefully, you can spot the Verizon and 4G LTE logos engraved on the metal backplate of the tablet. Seeing that the first Motorola tablet, the XOOM was released with Big Red, the Xyboard tablet being sold by the same carrier isn’t much of a surprise. Neither is the presence of 4G LTE radios onboard.
What’s interesting is the name of the tablets Xyboard has been confirmed, with an official logo also present in the screenshot. Perhaps it’s to distance the company from the XOOM which didn’t do too well? Well, the Verizon DROID Xyboard is expected to be officially announced soon so stay tuned.
