Multi-Zippered Sleeping Bag Lets You Regulate
Your Temperature Just Right

By David Ponce I have a strange internal thermostat. It’s picky to no end. Most of the time, I’m sweating, no matter how cool the place is. So what I end up doing is making my apartment glacial and hiding under the covers. Then as I start to get too hot, I poke certain body [...]

Dude Makes Custom-Painted Minifig Babies

By David Ponce Custom painted toys are nothing new under the sun. Very often however the paint chips off or you’re stuck with bad quality stickers. We’re told the guys at CitizenBrick offer higher quality items. More importantly, they offer some neat looking items, such as the baby minifigs you see in the picture above. [...]

This Air Guitar Has Frickin Lasers

By David Ponce There are those that learn guitar and there are those that play it. Or at least pretend to play it. Or at the very least make an attempt to appear to play it… We’re not sure where the air guitarists fall, although if they buy the above tool they will be able [...]

Animated T-800 bust does more than look nasty

Do you remember the first time you watched Terminator at the cinema (or in the comfort of your own home, for those who were not yet born when the first movie was released)? The T-800 certainly sent chills down the spines of many, and we were left wondering whether our future will end up in a nuclear apocalypse, and robots who are self-aware (or even from the future) will come to cause havoc upon humanity. Well, the T-800 is definitely a thing of beauty in terms of design, and its signature glowing red eyes have pierced through many a soul in the past. Statues and busts of the T-800 are old hat by now, but this particular T-800 bust from Animatronics Works Japan is different – as it has plenty of detail, and the teeth on it were even created thanks to images of Arnold Schwarzenegger himself, before he was the Governator. The eyes will actually glow and wait for ti – move, too! At least it won’t be able to kill you, and neither can it talk you to death, but the asking price of around $11,000 is just too much for many.

One Street Tweeter prints tweets on pavement

If you are one who cannot get enough of Twitter, then here is something that you might want to check out – the One Street Tweeter, which is actually a special machine that was constructed with one – just one purpose in life. Basically, the Street Tweeter will be able to print out 40 character messages on the pavement itself thanks to its reservoir of water soluble paint. Surely there is some sort of wireless data network embedded deep within the bowels of this printer-on-wheels, otherwise, how else is it supposed to receive information on what it needs to print? Ambling around at approximately five miles per hour, this is no speed demon, but then again, the whole reason it has to plod along would be to accommodate its printing speed. Otherwise, all we would get are messy roads with paint slathered all over the place. Anyone wants to send a piece of ASCII art tweet to it? I wonder if one can choose the color of the paint prior to tweeting…

Osaka Station City uses water to tell the time

Fountains as well as sprays of water are definitely a thing of beauty, and for those who have been to Las Vegas, surely the fountains of Bellagio have mesmerized you with their nightly performance? Well, halfway around the world is another interesting “monument”, or should I say, mechanism that will rely on flowing sheets of water to function as a form of shimmering canvas. This display can be said to be a clever amalgamation of a waterfall as well as a digital printer, all rolled into one. The water streams are lit up beautifully in its own way so that your eyes will be treated to an always changing array of designs and beautiful patterns – not only that, it can also tell you the time if programmed properly. This particular display is part of Koei Industry’s handiwork, and it is currently located in the South Gate Building in the Osaka Station City shopping mall in Japan. For those who are heading down to that part of Japan, it would certainly be something worth checking out.

Loop shower lets you shower in a circle

I know that the Dornbracht horizontal shower is something rather out of the ordinary, and here we are with yet another iteration on how one should take a shower. Things have gotten very different these days, and standing under a steady stream of water should no longer be the norm. The Loop shower that you see here does resemble an oversized Dyson Air Multiplier when you first take a look at it, but it will not keep you dry, but rather, ensure that all your nooks and crannies will end up real wet, sending jets of water in different directions. Capable of action whether indoors or outdoors, the Loop hails from Italian furniture and fixture manufacturers Idiha. (more…)
