Nvidia powers next-gen iPod

Nvidia edged out Broadcom Corp in the battle to be designed into the next-generation video iPod socket, even though Broadcom is supplying the chips that make the current 5G iPods capable of playing video today. Apple decided to go ahead with Nvidia as the graphics chip maker's offering is able to enhance the viewing experience by throwing in 3D graphics functionality. Will there be 3D games on the iPod now? One thing's for sure, its about time the iPod received a better control scheme for games in place of the Click Wheel.

Samsung MagicStation MV55

Blu-ray burners on the PC platform are about as rare as an Eskimo pulling a sleigh in the middle of the Sahara, but that is due to the fact that consumers are waiting for a definite winner in the next generation format war before making their choice. Its a Catch 22 situation, really, as there can be no clear winner if everyone is sitting on the sidelines. Samsung decided to forge ahead with the MagicStation MV55 - a desktop PC that comes with a Blu-ray burner. It is powered by a Pentium 4 3.2GHz processor and boasts a 256MB GeForce 7600GT graphics card.

The Cool Pen Calculator lets you draw a calculator on any handy piece of paper, with the numbers and symbols in any order you wish, and then use that piece of paper like a calculator. It might be cooler if the calculator pen just told you, say, that 34x65=947,001.6 (or cooler still if it actually gave you the correct answer), but somehow what is actually does is the epitome of geek amusement.
