Google+ users who miss Facebook’s ability to post webcam updates now have the ability to do so on Google’s social network. Starting today, the Google will be rolling out the ability to record web camera video to post as updates on Google+. No longer will users have to go through the hassle of uploading a video onto YouTube and then sharing it on the social network ? they can do it straight from their Google+ home page instead.
Unfortunately it’ll require Flash to activate your webcam, so for those of you who don’t have it on your computers, you won’t be able to use this feature. The update only started rolling out today and will take awhile before it reaches everyone ? so don’t fret if you haven’t got it yet. And since you’re already on Google+, be sure to add Ubergizmo to your circles so you can stay updated with all the latest news from our site.

It took awhile, but it’s finally here: the official Wikipedia app for Android is now available for download on the Android Market. Just in case you’re wondering why anybody would use the app instead of surfing the website on your phone’s browser, the app has the ability to save articles for offline reading, search for articles based on your location, the ability to switch languages on the fly, and an option to easily share what you’re reading.
The app is only in its first version, so for now you can expect a barebones Wikipedia experience, though more features should be available in the future. Head over to the Android Market to download it for free.

Add to myYahoo! The impossibility of technology can often be well…seemingly impossible. There has been some talk about OnLive. I say some because many have deemed what OnLive claims to be able to do impossible. Many gaming sites such as EuroGamer don?t believe it is possible, but with the testing of an avid gamer on Popular Science, Dan [...]

In an attempt to take over some of Yelp’s space in the location-based social network, Foursquare has just beaten it to the punch with the listing of menus and services offered on location listings. With the aid of SinglePlatform – a service that powers the menu of about 250,000 restaurants in major US cities, Foursquare now now lets you check what’s on sale or being offered at a place you intend to go, without you having to make the trip there first.

In the future, if you’re looking for the next best phone on Verizon, don’t be surprised if it ends up being a Casio instead of some Samsung or HTC device. According to some rumors online, Casio has a superphone in the works that might just fit the bill. A Droid-Life reader was reportedly at a focus group within the last couple of days and saw a couple of phones there, including the aforementioned Casio device.

Facebook has just announced 60 new apps that post updates to its recently launched Timeline (Carl Sjogreen, the director of Facebook’s Platform Products was on-stage). The apps reach a broad set of interests ranging from travel to books, but the message is really, in time, there will be something for everyone. While apps are usually meant to share information with others, you can also have apps that add information only for yourself. There were no real Timeline features tonight, so it’s all about the new apps, which are available *now*.

Brookstone has just announced a handy new device that turns your iPad into scanner. Called the iConvert, it consists of a feeder tray with a dock for your iPad (it works with both versions). All you have to do is plug your iPad into the dock, run the iConvert app and you’re good to go. Start feeding the machine sheets of paper that you would like scanned, hit the scan button, and iConvert will do the rest. Documents are scanned as images that are sent to your gallery, which you can then share or edit on the tablet itself.

While keytars have been associated with glam metal bands of the 80s there’s no rule on who can or can’t use the device to make music, especially today. Well if you’ve always wanted a keytar for performing or recording music in a studio, the Alesis Vortex might be right up your alley. In addition to being a performing instrument, the Vortex doubles up as a studio instrument with its onboard USB and MIDI ports that let you hook it up to a Mac, PC or even iPad.
