I've always thought that one of the best places to advertise were urinals, as it is rather rude to look elsewhere while relieving yourself, leaving your eyes with only one place to look at - in front. Advertisers, however, have taken the high-tech approach by offering ambient media in the form of the AddMirror that has been operating in over 600 establishments throughout London. The AddMirror works like a regular mirror, although it can store up to half a dozen A4-sized advertisements thanks to pre-set lighting sequences. This means your ads will never fail to catch the eyes of your target market, giving your company greater exposure in the process. Overall, its a pretty neat idea - they should also include community service messages as a value-added service.

Modern day electronics have one major weakness - the presence of batteries, or rather the lack of battery power when you need them the most. This problem is a non-issue for the Everlife Light that comes in a durable package. The Everlife Light keeps on going without the need for battery replacements - all you need to do is shake it and you're good to go. Utilizing Faraday's Law of Induction, it requires approximately a minute's worth of shaking to get it going when fully drained, while regular recharging takes just half the amount of time. The waterproof Everlife Light is a great tool for emergencies as it can withstand the force of a car rolling over it, while the LED doesn't require any replacement. For $19.95, this is one of the better buys you can make this holiday season. Just think of how much you'll save on batteries in the long run.

There comes to a point in a gamer's life where he/she finds the sweet spot of gaming in terms of the number of buttons available on the mouse, and while the optimal number might vary from one individual to another, nobody has thought about using Frag Pedals - until now at least. Imagine mapping controls such as jump or crouch to these pedals, freeing up a weapon key on the keyboard or mouse in the process. In fact, arcade FPS shooters such as the House of the Dead and Time Crisis series will definitely benefit from such a gaming peripheral. Each Frag Pedal is made from aluminum and rubber and is expected to last the rigors of gaming. Pick a set up today for $70.

The Optimus 103 keyboard was something that everybody looked forward to in the beginning, but as time passed by, announcements from the Optimus staff have caused interest to plummet by removing color OLEDs that were the main feature in the original design and replacing them with monochrome ones instead. The Optimus Mini 3 is yet another attempt by the company to introduce a novel way to control your PC, where each computer can support up to two of these units simultaneously. This means you get 6 extra keys in total, but it remains to be seen what the pricing structure will be like.

Portable DVD players used to come with just a display, but it looks as though this isn't enough for portable DVD player manufacturers. Axion of Japan is offering a couple of such devices, with the 10" AXN5109TN and 7" AXN6705T that comes with a 1Seg Digital TV tuner and an integrated analogue TV tuner respectively. The AXN5109TN's display supports a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and is compatible with other file formats such as MP3s and MPEG 4 videos. There is no word on the pricing of either model, although you can check them out in Japan on December 20th.

The Oracom Rainbow S2 has been spotted online, although information on the official specifications is about as hard to find as convincing a kamikaze pilot to purchase a life policy - to punctuate my point, there isn't even a hint of the specifications on the Oracom website as at press time. Of course, with the lack of any official information, the Rainbow S2 is open to interpretation. The S2 will most probably be the spiritual successor to the UB-890, coming in slightly smaller dimensions while the proprietary USB connector has been replaced with a standard one.

Hauppauge's TV tuner cards are stuff of legends when it comes to the average computer user who prefers watching TV over the computer rather than using an actual TV set itself. This Christmas, Hauppauge has taken the initiative to release the WinTV-HVR-3000 that comes with more than just cable/antenna jacks - it includes digital satellite and Freeview HD inputs as well. Each purchase comes with software that enables you to record your favorite TV shows automatically, while operating the entire setup is dead easy with a remote control that resembles your ordinary TV remote. The WinTV-HVR-3000 targets those who are living in the U.K. only at the moment. Pricing details are unavailable even on the product page itself.

Tzero Technologies, a manufacturer of Ultra-WideBand (UWB) chips, has teamed up with Audiovox to bring consumers wireless high-definition multimedia adapters that will help eliminate the mess of wires found in most home audio/video components. This new adapter will be marketed under the Terk brand name, utilizing UWB to transmit High-Definition video streams without wires to your home or office. Walls and ceilings are but minor annoyances as the Wireless Transmitter/Receiver does not rely on line-of-sight technology. You can look out for this device at CES 2007 - we know we are!

New York City's cabs are nothing more than a convenient mode of transportation, and even they cannot escape from the long arm of technology. Apparently, the city's Taxi and Limousine Commission has decided to include a touchscreen display in each cab to keep the passengers entertained and well informed while being ferried to their destination. Passengers can access various information bits like news, weather reports, restaurant reviews, while displaying your current progress to your destination. In addition, should you leave some stuff inside the cab accidentally, you can always trace your cab back easily. The long-awaited credit card payment system will also be implemented for your convenience.
