There have been some gems for all sorts of products, but some of the cleverest, and some of my personal favourites, have got to be technology ones.Geeks are hard to convince, so while seeing an advert won't necessarily break that hard nut, it'll make us salivate and wish our birthdays and Christmases would come sooner (as an aside - less than 130 days until Christmas, start writing that letter to Santa asking for something shiny!) and make us notice the gadget that bit more when we next see it on a shelf or online. Shuttle XPC-based car information systemShuttle has expanded its product line by introducing a prototype in-car PC that functions as an information system. A Mercedes S-Class was the beneficiary of a Shuttle XPC SN21G5 mini PC at the CarTronics show in Taiwan. This in-car PC boasts features like GPS-based navigation, voice control, entertainment services, and communication using VoIP services via 3G wireless modem technology. All this is made possible by an AMD Athlon 64 3700 processor and 1GB of RAM with Windows XP Professional as the operating system of choice. The system boasts 3 LCD displays in total as well as a quartet of webcams. Input devices include a couple of keyboards and a single trackball. Shuttle will push its in-car solutions before the year is over.
