Samsung Droid Charge arriving next week Motorola

The device lineup sheet for Costco has found its way into the wild, and the folks over at Droid Life have been kind enough to share it with the rest of us. Judging from picture, we can see the addition of 2 new smartphones for Verizon in addition to their launch dates? the Samsung Droid Charge and Motorola Bionic 4G.

Since the last leaked Droid Charge launch date turned out to be wrong, it might have been delayed until April 28 next week. After all the training materials for the phone only surfaced last week, so it would make sense that Verizon employees get one full week to learn about the phone. But this would put the phone up for sale on the same day as the HTC Incredible 2 and Sony Ericsson Xperia Play. Three new phones on one day? Verizon is going to have one heck of a launch event.

Volvo Concept Universe Car

Today at the Shanghai Auto Show, Volvo unveiled its Concept Universe, a ?state-of-the-art? luxurious sedan, focusing on a ?human-centric? design, according to the Scandinavian company. The Concept Universe is primarily geared to the Chinese market, and, according to Jonathan Disley, Strategic Design Manager Advanced at Volvo Cars, ?without the edges, all lines are infinite, marking distinctive inspiration from Scandinavian furniture design as well as Chinese writing. The Concept Universe is entirely built by hand and took a strenuous 8000 hours to finish.? Wow! That?s luxury for sure.

Apple sues Samsung for being copycats

You might have wondered what took them so long, but they’ve finally done it. Apple has just put on its gloves and stepped into the ring with Samsung, with reports of the fruity company sending a lawsuit towards the Korean electronic manufacturer’s direction. In the lawsuit, Apple claims that Samsung copied the look and feel of their iPhone and iPad devices. The lawsuit is directed at Samsung’s Android devices such as the Galaxy S 4G, Epic 4G, Nexus S and Galaxy Tab.

While it’s true that Samsung’s TouchWiz UI looks as though it was inspired by Apple’s iOS, but under close scrutiny, there are only a handful of icons that truly look alike. In terms of hardware design, the Galaxy S does look like the iPhone at a glance, but then again so do many smartphones that don’t have keyboards and have curved bezels. Sure, Samsung could have done better, and chose not to be inspired by Apple, but Apple had set the trend back then and if you weren’t going to come up with something better, they probably felt they were better off getting inspiration from the company that was at first place.
