More about the Zune

More about the Zune
Gizmodo has the lowdown on the upcoming Zune from Microsoft. The scroll wheel lookalike is nothing quite like the namesake - it is actually a quartet of buttons in a wheel formation. The buttons do work in a similar manner though, as scrolling speeds increase the longer the button is held down. If you're familiar with the way Windows Media Center works, zipping through the Zune will be a joy. The Zune has a grip behind to give you a more comfortable video viewing experience in landscape mode, while the dock connector is located at the bottom. Additional features include an FM tuner and transmitter, but it is a sure bet that the Zune won't have WiFi capabilities.

FCC approves 3Com 3108 SIP

FCC approves 3Com 3108 SIPThe FCC has recently approved the new 3108 SIP wireless VoIP phone from 3Com. Strangely enough, the 3108 SIP is not compatible with Skype, one of the most popular VoIP software available out there currently. This device works on the 802.11b/g networks within 65 to 165 feet when indoors and has a maximum range of 820 feet with no obstructions. Features of the 3108 SIP includes an 1.8" color display, an external 2.4GHz antenna, and built-in memory to store phone numbers. The firmware can be updated via WiFi. There is no word on pricing of the 3108 SIP at the moment.
