While it’s never too late to stop the pollution of earth, what do we do about the rubbish that’s already been dumped on our planet? We’ve already got a number of robots doing the job on land and in space but what about the ocean? Well, this Marine Drone concept created by Elie Ahovi and his team might be the answer, an underwater-based drone that goes around the ocean collecting rubbish .
It makes use of a special maw-like butterfly net that picks up plastic bottles and other objects that don’t belong in the ocean. It runs silently on water-proof batteries (that I assume are rechargeable). To ensure that the Marine Drone doesn’t catch wildlife along with the trash, it emits an irritating signal that causes them to flee from it. Once it has collected a full load, it returns to the surface where a crew can use a crane to pick up the rubbish for proper disposal.
No word on when we’ll be seeing such robots, but it sounds like a pretty good idea to me. Find out more.

Rumors of new Apple devices surface almost daily. Whether it be the iPad Mini or iPhone 5, people are getting really excited by the next Apple product. Apple.Pro, a recurring part leaker, has just discovered a photo of a claimed next-generation iPhone front, which has a couple of interesting features.
To start, this is the firs time a white iPhone 5 model or front has surfaced, which will please many ‘white iPhone” fans. Another interesting feature is the fact that the FaceTime camera has been shifted left and is now above the speaker. It’s not much of a change, but who knows what other features could be included internally.
Of course we don’t know for sure if this is actually the front of the iPhone 5 and we won’t know until it actually comes out officially, but this very well could be an Apple design change as it is minimal and looks more natural.
What do you think of this design change? Let us know in the comments section and we’ll keep you updated as more info becomes available.

The South Korean tech behemoth that is Samsung is now up and all over the place in its home turf. According to the local news publication Maeil Business Newspaper, Samsung is now poised to gain an unprecedented 70 percent market share this month of July. It’s important to note that Samsung already garnered 66 percent of the overall market share during the first half of this year.
Although this is not surprising, the purported 70 percent market share is a big leap to its previous share over the last three years, where it only had around 50 percent of the market share. Samsung is saying that the company’s push into the LTE market is one of the biggest contributing factors to its success, with devices such as the Galaxy S2 HD LTE and the Galaxy S3 as the perfect examples for its massive growth. Officials are saying that Samsung is currently dominating roughly 69% of the overall LTE-enabled smartphone market.

If you like making music and creating weird video collages, you’re in luck – there’s an app just like that. It’s called Bodies and Beats for iOS devices but unfortunately, it’s still in its funding stage right now so there’s a chance that it won’t make it to the virtual shelves of the App Store. Bodies and Beats is a music making app that lets you compose a song and then create a dancing human being to go along with it. Users can choose from a catalog of body segments (the head, body, waist, hips and legs), mix and match and come up with some weird, dancing figure to match their songs.
Sounds like an interesting idea with a pretty cool demonstration video to go along with it. If you’re interested in checking it out, be sure to head to the Bodies and Beats Kickstarter page where you can fund it as well ($5) for the app when it comes out.

Both retailers are selling the 16 GB version of the device for £199.99. So, if you’ve already pre-ordered one, it should be arriving at your doorstep soon.
For now, no word about the availability of the 8 GB variant in the U.K. has been reported. The 7-inch Nexus 7 tablet is Google’s first tablet and is also the first tablet to run Android 4.1 a.k.a. If you’ve had a case of Skype sending messages from your account to random people on your contact list – fret not, your computer isn’t infected by some sort of virus. It’s just an issue that Skype has been having recently and you’re one of the unlucky few to be affected by the glitch. For those of you not in the know, a handful of people have reported on the Skype forums that a few of their instant messages were being sent to random people in their contact lists.
While most of the time this shouldn’t be a problem (a couple of lines taken out of context usually doesn’t say much, depending on what you use Skype to chat about) but it is still a serious breach of privacy. Embarrassing or even confidential details can be unintentionally sent to people who shouldn’t know about them. Skype has confirmed the glitch and is working on a fix for it which should roll out in the near future, in the form of an update.

Although electric cars are becoming more and more popular these days, one challenge remains – beating gasoline-powered cars in terms of mileage. But the QBEAK electric car is trying to change all that. The QBEAK electric car, currently in its conceptual phase, can reportedly run 500 miles on a single battery charge – even better than the Chevrolet Volt hybrid that can cover 375 miles on a single charge. QBEAK will utilize bio-methanol to improve its battery life.
According to its designers, bio-methanol is better than gasoline or diesel because it can produce less carbon dioxide. Mogens Lokke, the CEO of ECOmove, said that the car will be outfitted with six battery modules inside its chassis instead of using a conventional fixed battery. The designers are planning to release a battery-powered model later this year. Meanwhile, a battery/ fuel model is also expected to arrive next year. The QBEAK car will sport in-wheel electric motors to deliver speeds up to 120kph.

Add to myYahoo! If you love the “Merc with a Mouth”, then we’ve got good news for you. Deadpool, the fictional mercenary and anti-hero created by artist Rob Liefeld and writer Fabian Nicieza for Marvel Comics, will be having his own video game soon. At the Comic-Con 2012 in San Diego, Marvel and Activision unveiled the upcoming Deadpool video game. American video game developer High Moon Studios, will be teaming up with Activision to bring Deadpool to your favorite consoles. As of now, the details of the game are still bleak, but it seems that Nolan North, considered as the nearest thing the games industry has to a bona fide leading man, will voice the character. While Deadpool was already featured in Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, and Marvel Ultimate Alliance, this is the first time for Deadpool to debut as the lead character in a video game.
