Remember the HTC Ruby that had its specs and pictures leaked recently? Well, more details about the phone have surfaced, and it turns out that the Ruby is going to be the new flagship device of T-Mobile, and it will be renamed to HTC Amaze 4G. Judging by the phone’s powerful specs, I guess it deserves the title.

The HTC Ruby/Amaze 4G will pack a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, a 4.3″ qHD display, 1GB of RAM, HSPA+ connectivity, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front facing camera, dedicated camera buttons, and the usual Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS. Still no word on pricing or a release date, but you can expect T-Mobile to be slapping on a premium price tag, especially since it’s going to be a flagship device and HSPA+ connectivity. Sony slashes PlayStation 3 prices

To all you folks who haven?t purchased a gaming console yet we’ve got some good news for you. Sony has just announced that it has slashed the price of its latest home video game console: the PlayStation 3. Starting today, you can purchase the 160GB PS3 for only $249, while the 320GB model will only cost you $299. If that’s not good enough for you, Sony will also be selling limited edition inFAMOUS 2 bundles where users can pick up the 320GB PS3 for $299 with a copy of inFAMOUS 2 and a 30-day membership to PlayStation Plus.

Other than the low price tag, the hardware is the same, so you can tell that Sony is really trying to encourage the sales of the device. The PS3 has been around for almost five years now, and this price reduction could possibly signify the coming of the PlayStation 4 which has been rumored to be arriving next year. Either way, late adopters of the console will have a huge catalog of games to go through if they purchase the PS3, so its age shouldn’t really be an issue. Will any of you be picking up the PS3 now that it’s even more affordable?

Sony announces Europe-only PSP E-1000

Instead of announcing more news about the upcoming PlayStation Vita, Sony decided to announce the launch of a new PlayStation Portable: the PSP E-1000 at Gamescon today. Designed for folks on a budget, the PSP E-1000 will only be available in Europe and will cost 99 Euros. It functions just like a regular PSP with one major caveat: it won’t have any WiFi connectivity. Games will be played on the E-1000 through UMDs or transferred from the PlayStation Store via Media Go using a computer.
