Lunch box made from NES gaming console brings
back fond memories

We?re not sure if there is an age limit to bringing a lunch box to work, but if you were a fan and had great memories playing the NES while you were growing up as a kid, we?re sure that this Nintendo Entertainment System Lunch Box will most definitely be a piece of memorabilia worth picking up! As the name itself has implied, this is a lunch box that is made from an NES console that has been hollowed out. Instead its internals have since been replaced by strips of vinyl tape, been given a suitcase handle that even comes with a lock and a key to make sure that no one will be able to steal your lunch (unless they steal the entire box). We have to admit that this is pretty nostalgic but unfortunately it seems it is out of stock at the moment but its creator, Luke Blackford, has stated that he plans to create more in the future, so head on over to his Etsy shop for the photos or to drop him a message signaling your interest!

Cross-realm zones coming to World of Warcraft:
Mists of Panderia beta

Before the introduction of the Dungeon Finder in World of Warcraft, players who wanted to form parties for dungeons were limited to a pool of players on their server. This usually took a while to form parties and could sometimes result in improperly geared players or players who did not know what they were doing and wasted everyones time. Looking to expand the Dungeon Finder?s cross-realm functionality, it seems that when the next WoW expansion, Mists of Panderia, has been released, that functionality will be introduced to low-population areas whereby players from different realms can group together to complete quests. Of course there will be restrictions and not all zones will be cross-realm compatible, but it still sounds like a great idea and the next time you find yourself questing in areas like Silithus, at least you will have some company! Head on over to Blizzard?s website in the source link below for the FAQ.

HTC One X WiFi bug gets an unofficial fix

HTC One XIt might not have been a widespread issue, but there were reports from those who bought the HTC One X LTE version in the US and Canada regarding a possible WiFi bug. This bug affected the device?s WiFi connectivity and either caused frequent disconnections and slowed speeds and while it might not have been a major issue, it does have the potential to be rather annoying especially for those who might be looking to conserve their data wherever and whenever possible. The good news at that time is that HTC acknowledged the problem and have since released a statement saying that they were working on a solution. If the WiFi bug has proven too annoying for your liking and you have the means and know-how on how to flash ROMs onto your HTC One X handset, the folks at Brief Mobile have managed to get their hands on the update that will supposedly fix the problem. However if you do not know how to flash ROMs onto your Android handset we guess you will have to wait until HTC releases the update officially.

Octopus Keyboard for iOS is reminiscent of
Blackberry 10s on-screen keyboard

One of the cooler and more interesting features of Blackberry 10 would be its on-screen keyboard. Different platforms have taken the on-screen keyboard to different levels and there are a variety of different ways that these keyboards can help ?predict? our words. For those who might have missed out on Blackberry World, the Blackberry 10 on-screen keyboard basically inserts predicted words on the keyboard frets between the rows. If that is the word you want, you can simply swipe upwards to have it inserted into your message. While we?re sure that it will most definitely take some getting used to, it looks like iOS developers have taken that concept and have since created a tweak called Octopus Keyboard that offers something similar to iPhone users. Developed by Marios Hros, the Octopus Keyboard appears to be in its alpha stages and will be arriving on Cydia 20th May. No word on pricing just yet but you will need a jailbroken iOS device if you wish to use this tweak. In the mean time you can check out the video above to see the Octopus Keyboard in action.

Panasonic floats 100,000 LEDs down the Sumida
River in Tokyo

As part of Tokyo Hotaru (fireflies) festival, Panasonic decided to release a whopping 100,000 EVERLED light bulbs down the Sumida River in Tokyo. We have to admit that this is a pretty impressive sight as the entire river gained a very distinct shape of blue. So what?s the reason behind this move? Like we said earlier, this is part of the Tokyo Hotaru festival and the EVERLEDs were meant to represent fireflies as well as to pay homage to the Japanese tradition of floating candles on the water, albeit in a bit more high-tech way. Now we?re sure many are wondering about the possible environmental impact and possible pollution that could result from these 100,000 bulbs. Fret not as Panasonic has addressed those issues by ensuring that all the bulbs are solar powered, which we presume were charged the day before and in turn will help power the Evolta batteries inside. The bulbs were also fished out via a huge net although it?s safe to say that a couple might still be floating about in the river. In any case be sure to check out the spectacular display in the video above.

Rumors suggest that Apples next-gen iPhones
design has not been finalized yet

iphone5_release_Now that Samsung has outed their flagship phone for 2012, the Samsung Galaxy S3, we?re sure that many iPhone users are wondering what Apple will be bringing to the table in order to ensure that their next-gen device remains just as competitive. So far there have been several rumors suggesting that the next-gen iPhone will be made from liquid metal. Later new rumors emerged suggesting a redesigned iPhone with a metallic back instead, so which are we to believe? Thanks to iMore?s sources, it looks like we should believe none of these rumors.

According to their sources, it was reported that Apple has yet to finalize the design of their next-gen iPhone, which means that the 4? display, the metallic back/liquid metal build are pretty much up in the air at the moment. One thing that they seem to agree upon is the redesign of the dock connector which reportedly has been made smaller. Granted that nothing has been made official yet, we guess it?s hard to say who?s right, so until then we suggest taking all of this with a grain of salt for now until more concrete evidence surfaces.

Apples new iPad with 4G rebranded to iPad WiFi +
Cellular

When Apple launched the new iPad, there was quite a bit of commotion regarding its 4G LTE capabilities. For the most part it seems that the radios used by Apple in the new iPad were compatible with USA carriers such as AT&T and Verizon, leading some customers in overseas markets confused about why the 4G on their iPad wasn?t working for them. Many a consumer watchdog weren?t too pleased about it and requested that Apple change their advertising so as not to further confuse and mislead customers about the tablet?s 4G LTE connectivity.

For a while Apple defended its use of the 4G label but it looks like they have finally caved in. Now instead of reading ?iPad WiFi + 4G?, it now reads ?iPad WiFi + Cellular? (as pictured in the screenshot above) making the distinction of its capabilities a bit broader. If you?re wondering what all the fuss is about regarding the different networks, check out our article on the difference between 4G networks here which should prove to be quite an insightful read!

Best Buy slashes prices on all Mac models,
refresh imminent

So it seems that Apple?s next-gen iMacs with Intel?s latest Ivy Bridge processors have been spotted in a benchmark test. While that?s great, we guess the question that would-be iMac owners are asking is when will we be seeing these particular models refreshed? After all it is about that time of the year when Apple is set to refresh some of their computers and it looks like that wait could be over soon. Spotted at Best Buy, Apple?s series of computers – Mac Mini, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac and Mac Pro – appear to have been discounted anywhere between $30-$200. This would be a great way for retailers to get rid of remaining stock while Apple transitions in new products. Unfortunately this does not tell us when exactly we can expect the new computers but it should be an indication that we are getting pretty close. Either way be sure to stay tuned for updates!
