We brought you news of the iFixit team tearing down the iPhone 4S and confirming that there is 512MB RAM inside that hails from the hallowed halls of Samsung, but what we have after the jump would be the entire video of the teardown process that weighs in at approximately four and a half minutes. With a repairability score of 6 out of 10, that ain’t too shabby, but chances are if anything goes awry with your iPhone 4S, you as the normal man on the street would be better off sending it to the Apple Store to get it looked at.

Sprint decides to get into the spirit of Christmas early by announcing that the iPhone 4S that they sell will be unlocked at the beginning, although a rather draconian SIM lock will be ?pushed to the devices shortly after launch.? This is at least a welcome change from their original stance. As to what the definition of “shortly” is, it remains to be seen – after all, time is relative to different people and in this case, companies. Guess those who are about to go overseas immediately after purchasing this phone can always use a pre-paid SIM card in another country, but upon returning Stateside, chances are it will end up SIM locked.

Nice to see Steve Wozniak being a true blue gentleman, waiting in line patiently just like everyone else for the iPhone 4S before it is released to the masses. Woz’s Twitter account placed him first in line at the Los Gatos Apple Store, where he tweeted, ?The long wait begins. I?m first in line. The guy ahead was on the wrong side and he?s pissed.? I guess it always pays to be aware of the surroundings before you plant your rear end and lay claim to pole position – which might not be in the place that you’d like. Woz took his Segway there, and he’s obviously keeping himself occupied with a white iPad 2 in tow.

It seems that Hulu is not going to put itself up for sale, after Hulu equity owners made the announcement that they are about to terminate the Hulu sale process. In a joint statement from Hulu owners News Corporation, Providence Equity Partners, The Walt Disney Company and the Hulu senior management team, this is what they had to say.
Since Hulu holds a unique and compelling strategic value to each of its owners, we have terminated the sale process and look forward to working together to continue mapping out its path to even greater success. Our focus now rests solely on ensuring that our efforts as owners contribute in a meaningful way to the exciting future that lies ahead for Hulu.
Guess all the rumors of a Hulu sale are just that – rumors, and those with a controlling interest in the company isn’t in a rush to dispose it off to a new owner.

When it comes to the lion’s share of operating systems that run on personal computers, Microsoft’s Windows takes the cake – and has done so for more than a decade and a half already. The thing is this, with a fair number of Windows releases already, which one tops it all off? Not necessarily the newest version – not at least until today, where Windows XP was finally knocked off its perch by Windows 7 as the most popular operating system in the world. Guess Windows Vista owners can just go to their corner and sulk.

We would normally use the term “unbox” for a particular piece of hardware, but why is it being applied to software right now, especially a mobile operating system from Google? Well, the answer can be summed up simply – this is a literal representation of Ice Cream Sandwich, Google’s nickname for their Android 4.0 operating system that will be able to play nice with both tablets and smartphones, bridging the gap between Android 2.3 Gingerbread that catered to just smartphones, while Android 3.x Honeycomb was optimized for tablets.
It certainly took far less people to set up the Ice Cream Sandwich in the midst of all the other statues of previous Android versions physically compared to getting the coding done, this I am quite sure about it. Check out the video of the unboxing after the jump. You can also keep up with the latest on Ice Cream Sandwich via Twitter.

A paperless environment is definitely worth looking into, although I do not think that it is viable at this moment since paper is still an important aspect in terms of documentation. Wireless connectivity, however, has its place in the future, but there are still limits to it. Wireless headphones have been around for quite some time already as it lays the ghost of a wired existence to rest, but how about wireless charging?

If you want to know how to install CyanogenMod 7 for the HP TouchPad, head on here – but bear in mind that it is not meant for the timid hearted. An alpha build of the popular tablet Android 2.3 firmware has been released, where it will target the diehard modder. Most of the release note comprises of warnings that concern potential data loss, bricking (which shouldn’t really matter since this is a discontinued tablet anyways) and overall doom-and-gloom that can be summed up as this, “Abandon all hope ye who enter here.”
Guess that applies with most alpha builds of firmware out there, some more than most. So far, we do know that all the essential items are there including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, the digital camera, dual-core support for superior processing power, Netflix support as well as wireless charging thanks to Touchstone technology. Are you willing to take a similar risk?

Who would have thought that the gaming user interface that is found in Real Time Strategy (RTS) titles would actually find use in the real world sometime down the road? Check out the tablet that you see above – it is a really, really huge device that makes me wonder whether “tablet” is the right word to describe it since tablets are generally meant to be highly portable. A large warzone touchscreen display might be more apt, where the hypothetical warzone will use graphical representations of real time happenings on the battlefield. For instance, blue icons would represent the positioning of Team America assets, ranging from ground troops to overhead aircraft, while red icons would obviously be the enemy.

We all know that Nintendo has had more or less a continued string of success in the handheld video game industry right from the early days of the Game & Watch to the Game Boy that held its 8-bit ground for a decade or so, while the DS also took the world by storm – so much so that more than 50 million units have already been sold in the US alone. This tally would mean it has outsold the Sony PS2 in the region, making it the most successful console to date.
