Just when we thought electronic dictionaries were just plain old tomes of knowledge that has been digitized, the Nurian Z1 surprises everyone by boasting WiFi connectivity, enabling users to hook up to the Internet at any available hotspot. This means you get to access additional educational content over the Web in real-time without the need for a notebook. The Nurian Z1 features a 5" touchscreen LCD display and is powered by the Windows CE 5.0 Professional operating system. You can expect to see it hit the Korean market in February next year at a yet undisclosed price. I wonder if users will use it to access dictionary.com instead for alternative answers...

Seoul Semiconductor has unveiled the P4 Z-Power LED that lays claim to being the brightest LED in the world which is based on a single die light source. Capable of delivering up to 240 lumens, the P4 could potentially replace conventional fluorescent and incandescent lighting sources all over the world as a brighter and more cost effective solution. This is made possible by using Seoul Semiconductor's very own patented phosphor and packaging technologies, enabling the P4 to obtain the highest luminous flux and extraordinary reliability. This new LED, when commercialized and marketed, will target a wide variety of industries including cars, torches, and projectors amongst others.
Most portable media players and cellphones (those in Korea and Japan anyway) these days come with an integrated AM/FM tuner and boast the ability to watch TV no matter where you are, but I bet that none of them also functions as a lantern and can be charged by a hand crank when the batteries are all juiced out. The $40 Vector Tough Brite Storm Tracker keeps you occupied and provides light during times of distress by offering a weather band and AM/FM radio with automatic storm alert, a spotlight, an LED -based area light, and a UHF/VHF black-and-white TV to help you while your time away. At least the law of diminishing returns do not apply here - two crank minutes offers up to 15 minutes' worth of LED light or radio.
If you have a sense of humor and love playing practical jokes on some of your computer illiterate friends and family members, picking up these decorative computer keys could be one of the best buys this Christmas. Available in a wide variety of statements, you will have more than your fair share of laughs with various classics such as "BEER", "duh!", "EJECT", "Oops!", "Any Key", and even one with a smiley face. I especially love the Panic key that is bathed in crimson. A set of four will set you back by $10, and each purchase comes with some double-sided tape for you to blend it into the keyboard as a prank for the more clueless computer users.

Most digital photo frames are just that - decorative pieces for homes that contain images which can be broken down into 1s and 0s at the most basic level. The PhotoShare7 from Photoco is different, as this 7" digital photo frame also doubles up as a portable digital photo album. Just slip it into the included frame when you want to impress clients with your latest trip to an exotic island or slip it out when you want to go traveling. Unfortunately, the screen resolution is nothing to shout about at 480 x 234 pixels, but it does a pretty decent job. Other features include compatibility with Memory Stick and SD card formats and a TV output port. The PhotoShare7 retails for $95.
Early Monday morning, Nicole Richie was arrested for DUI. In my own, personal, and very relevant, opinion on the matter, I believe that she should have been arrested for driving without having consumed some sort of protein within the last 2 years. But hey, maybe that?s just me talking crazy.
